You know what I think? If a game's able to make you people hate it, then it has done something right. It's those games that nobody ever talks about...

Thief: Deadly Shadows. No immersion
That's a crock of bullshit.

Thief DS. It managed to turn me off the entire Thief series for quite some time.
Quit crying. Invisible War didn't even turn me off to the entire series, and T3 was the more faithful of the 2 sequels.

Diablo II. Just... Diablo II.

Yeah, me too actually. I can't believe I clicked my LMB as much for that game as I must have done.

I had the misfortune of owning a wireless mouse (and only a wireless mouse) when I first bought Diablo II. I should have just saved the battery money and bought a new corded one.

'Black and White' -
Early on I loved the humor and much of the game really, but training the creature not to eat it's own filth ETC. was mind-numbingly frustrating. Then once you finally do get the bastard trained right you get to start over from scratch, wonderful. It was around this point that I could not even glance at the box without spitting.
'Odium'
I should have liked this game..but instead I wished I could conjure a consciousness into the program just so I could torture it as mercilessly as it did me.
'Tau Feng'
Wooden mechanics which were seemingly on a time delay along with paper thin characters (yes, even for a fighter) earned this title the steaming pile prize in short order.
'Star Trek: Klingon Academy'
I loved the idea for this game, but it just didn't pan out very well...at all. Such a squandered effort IMO.
'X1' - Tylenol PM works faster and besides, l get better rest when I'm not frustrated by MENSAN-puzzle control schemes. I did eventually come around for X3, but just barely.
'Blacksite A-51'
Ok, I'm all for subversiveness. It's just kind of hard to swallow in such large jagged chunks, especially when you're being forced with one ham-fisted attempt after another. When gameplay takes a back seat to pretentiousness, it never works.

Jashin and I agreeing on something? Holy shit.
That said, I hate Invisible War. I played it to completion once and you know what? Never fucking again.
Also hate Diablo II.
And Devil May Cry 3- which actually ruined the entire series for me.

Guild Wars is just old and has run its course :p
Games i love to hate? Hmmm.
Soldier of Fortune 2 : Such a crappy crappy game. Graphics (worst use of Q3 engine ive ever seen), gameplay, everything. Nice gore, too bad they forgot about the rest. Had some highlights altho that didnt help much.
Hitman 2 : Cant really say why i dont like it, thing in general irks me. Those dumb Japan missions...those dumb russian missions. Again some good stuff (Punjab missions) which didnt help to elevate the whole thing above "meh" status for me.
PS : In the last mission use an axe (any long range melee weapon) to kill the end boss thru the back door of his hidey hole. Then run around to the front and trigger the cutscene to make him pop out and watch him slide around on the floor in his dieing pose. Best part of the game
Gothic 3 : Here lies the Gothic francise. It had to end eventually.

So much so their next game is being retitled!

Metal Gear Solid 2. The game seemed to delight in setting you tasks then either moving the goalposts or kicking your feet out from under you at the last moment. That is when you actually got to play the game and weren't just sitting on your backside watching yet another cutscene.
