I really enjoyed SiN. It didn't come as much of a surprise though, because I have always loved FPS games. Most of the time, I play FPS games for their multiplayer. I felt like Quake/Quake 2 had boring single player campaigns, but SiN's was excellent. SiN reminds me of Duke Nukem 3D, where every level feels different (You're not just running through one installation blowing everyone away). A varied environment is important to keep people interested in a single-player game.

Freedom Force (im not a big fan of super heroes)
Company of Heroes (i usualy can't stand RTS games)
Galactic Civilization 2 (I loathe games like Civilization but GC2 has some
quality to it that i havent found in other strategy games)
STALKER (read a lot of negative comments about it, i'd rate it as one of the best PC games ever)
Donkey Kong Country (SNES) (i like platformers but the DKC series blew me away)
Commandos 1-2
Surprised i didn't care much for:
Vampire Bloodlines (really shitty GFX, sloppy level desig, the whole game felt extremely rushed, the patches doesnt fix these issues). I've given it many tries.
Left 4 Dead (i mean its an ok game but it got dull VERY quick)
Half-Life Ep2. Loved HL1, 2 and ep1.. got bored by it very quick because of some super boring level..
WoW - WotLK. Made me quit playing WoW, really bad expansion, too much recycling, boring worlds/themes.

Seconded on Company of Heroes.

Thirded. That game is the sole RTS I play these days. Fantastic campaign, fantastic multiplayer, fantastic game. Period.

Real life... dull graphics, awkward controls, bland, unoriginal story, level cap at around 20 years, confusing interface, frustrating repetitive unrewarding gameplay, extreme difficulty curve, unfinishable quests, the most desireable items and npcs practically unobtainable, boring and forced minigames. It's a surprise that I even keep playing, and a miracle that I like it.

Do us all a favour and uninstall.

I would certainly describe real life as a totally different kettle of fish to your description.
Anyways heres mine:
System Shock 1 - Hearing that System Shock was about an AI that went bonkers and killed everyone, and from looking at the back of the box I thought meh this`ll be crappy but I`ll get it anyway. Boy am I glad I bought it. Soon as I saw the opening intro my mind was already changed.
Fallout 3 - Another vote for this one. Went in expecting to hate it since I love Fallout 1,2 and tactics, and yeah I totally loved it. This got me off WoW for 3 weeks straight and I love WoW so thats saying something.
Power Rangers Action - Now you like I saw the name and thought pfft Power Rangers its gotta be crap. Well this well as it turns out is a good game. Its a side scrolling beatem up on the snes. I`d recommend this one to anyone. So there you go, theres actually one Power Rangers game out there thats pretty good.

World of Warcraft. Hands down.
Never, ever in my life would I have thought that I'd fall so madly in love with a mmorpg. I always considered myself a solo player, to the core. I simply wanted to see what all the hubbab was all about, and there was also an academic interest regarding virtual online communities, so I wanted to have a look for myself. So two years ago I signed up for the 10-day free trial. It's two years+ later, and here I am, still playing, and loving the game even more. For me, it's the most fun I've ever had gaming. Sorry, Thief, you lost the #1 spot, but you still rule the solo playing genre, so no worries.
But I'm still a bit 'wtf' as to how it all happened.
Yeah. No contest - the biggest surprise for me was getting sucked into the amazing World of Warcraft. Also I have to totally disagree with vurt - I think The Wrath of the Lich King is the best WoW has had to offer, a fantastic expansion that's fun, and jaw-droppingly beautiful. The art direction in LK is nothing short of spectacular. But, differents strokes and all that.
