2: I will actually finish The Void despite it being really easy to corner yourself and the game just vague enough that you don't know you're doing the right thing at any point.
God yes this. I've gotten to a point where I'm absolutely required to fight a Brother, and I keep running out of colour during the fight (I almost killed the dude with the cannons once, but for some reason after a certain point Hawk just wouldn't cast, so I kept wasting colour throwing it at him in globs), and I've just left the game alone since. That was about 10 months ago.
I'm pretty sure I know what the ending is, so I want to finish the game to confirm my suspicions, but I'm equally afraid I might be wrong and my whole idea about the artistic statement of the game will be ruined.

I guess if I have to have one, mine will be "actually give Mass Effect a try."
Will keep making fun of people who like it though, 'cuz I'm edgy like that.
If you loved Alpha Protocol so much, Mass Effect shouldn't be too much of a stretch.

Not technically, no. The hard sci-fi setting is a bit off-putting though. I cannot finish Mass Effect. I much preferred the spy setting in Alpha Protocol.

Most of my gaming goals are about making them. It'd be cool to work out some innovative gameplay, like an LSD-style game with the a plot spread out in time and space and linked together through mad hallucinations. Or push the development of IF-FPSs with some actual interaction and gameplay. Any goals as far as actual playing are to stay in touch with the state of the art. I'm content for now to plod through my long backlog anyway.
Sounds cool. What's in your back catalogue though? (which is the, perhaps obscure, point to all this)
I should probably throw -play a multiplayer game of some sort- on there. Haven't done that in years. So it'll be disasterous but not without entertainment value.

Oh it's miles long.
I haven't played RPGs in forever so still have Baulder's Gate II, Fallout 2-3, Elder Scrolls 3-4, Gothic 1-4, Dark Messiah, The Witcher, Neverwinter Nights.
A ton of FPS and shooter-likes: Bioshock 1-2, Penumbra series, Portal, Assassin's Creed 1-2, STALKER, Call of Cthulhu, Call Of Juarez, NOLF 1-2, Dead Space, Arma 2, Hitman, Mass Effect 1-2, MoH Airbourne, Crysis, FEAR, Tron 2.0...
And other games: The Path, Braid, Oasis, Psychonauts, Fahrenheit, Rise of Flight, Sins of a Solar Empire, Darwinia, Mafia 2, Battlefield 2, Total War Medieval & Empire, Galactic Civilizations 2, GTA SA VC & 4, Ico & Shadow of the Collosus, Homeworld 2, the Tomb Raiders post-Anniversary...
Can't get through them all in a year. It's just a hanging list that I go through as I can that gets longer over time since more games come than I can play.
gunsmoke on 5/1/2011 at 21:11
I resolve to find an affordable copy of Dark Messiah of Might and Magic and play it to finish.
Play through my new copy of The Void.
Finish Call of Pripyat.
Finish FarCry 2 (25% so far)
Replay both Deus Ex games.
Replay Morrowind and/or Oblivion.
Finish Giants and Armed and Dangerous.

My 3 gaming resolutions for this year:
* To -not- but a single new game (current or classic) until june 1st. Exceptions being bargain offers for game bundles and extra special editions that I like of games that I want.
* To plow through my backlog and reduce it in size considerably.
* To make an efficient gaming schedule.

My resolution is to basically play all those older games that have been on my list for so long: System Shock, System Shock 2, Arx Fatalis, Ultima Underworld. Yeah, I know I'm late. Let's just say I never really played games when I was a kid.
Fake Edit: Also finally giving DX2 another shot.
