Had a logitech MX500 for years, but started playing a particular RTS competitively (in the I-was-very-competitive-about-it sense, not I'm-so-pro-pwning-u-nubs sense), so the MX500 had to go - too heavy. I ended up going back to wired with a (

It isn't one of Razer's top end mice, but it does the tracking thing like no other. I get a secret pleasure out of people using my computer and asking if I can lower the mouse sensitivity. Here is my colour:

I have the (

I am just not as effective in games without my 5-button ball mouse.
That's really interesting btw - you're pretty tidy in Left 4 Dead. In that expert game on Hard Rain where you had 350-500 ping to Australia - I think you only had one friendly fire incident and you were using a ball mouse? I don't think I've used a ball mouse since Windows ME (cringe)

I dunno that glittering plastic chassis looks pretty pimping to me

I haven't yet touched a mouse where the side-buttons would have been comfortable to use, I guess this is partly due to my sausage fingers, which can just about grab a glass without breaking it. I'm using a razer Diamondback and it has lasted me five(?) years even though it falls to the ground every week multiple times.
Sure, I've fixed it a bit but thats quite awesome imo.

Three buttons, scrolling wheel, wired, ball.
This is pretty much what I use. I had optical and laser mice before, but always came back to this.

Another MX518 here. I've been using it for most of the last decade and it's still going strong, although recently it's started randomly freezing and resetting its sensitivity, but apparently that's a problem with the Win 7 USB controller and not a hardware failure (I wish it was a hardware failure so I could just get another one of these and be rid of it, as apparently no one's come up with a fix yet).
