See, that's the thing; I've never had any real problems playing PS3 games online, and indeed, the most revolutionary online multi-player experience of the last 5 years or more is on PSN exclusively (Demon's Souls if you hadn't already guessed).
I've also played SFIV on both platforms extensively, and they're practically identical when it comes to the multi-player experience.
I just don't have to pay to play on PSN.
And how about MAG?
When it comes down to numbers, it's far more ambitious than any equivalent title on 360, and thanks to platform parity, even PC. And it works damn well.
I think people claiming Xbox Live! is the superior platform are merely trying to justify the money they're wasting on it.
Bottom line, the PC is best for online games, but the prevalence of inexperienced new blood on the 360 platform don't know any better. I'm guessing that 80%+ of 360 Modern Warfare players have never played an online game on the PC. To them it's new, it's something THEY discovered and it's the best thing ever, and rational, logical arguments ain't gonna change their minds. And while that's the case, Microsoft will continue to make money hand over fist thanks to their ignorance.
The really stupid thing?
PC multi-player experiences were getting really interesting before the success of console shooters; now we've regressed back to original Quake style deathmatch with a different scoring system. There's nothing wrong with that per se (and original Quake DM is probably still my favourite if I'm honest), but innovation has taken a massive step backwards.
