Howdy all -
I run a PII500 with a Voodoo3 3000 vid card w/ the latest drivers on sound, etc., and the game consistently comes up extremely dark, as far as the lighting goes. I've turned up the montier brightness/contrast as high as possible, kicked the gamma in the game as high as possible, all to no avail.
Is there any other way to boost the brightness of the game, or any utility to help me do so? As it stands, the game is too dark to play; I can barely see under near any conditions.
Thanks in advance for any assistance. Take care, all.

I had this same problem and sought all the parameters in the config files but to no avail.
Ended up buying a new monitor.

Just for the record, I too have this problem. Its probably my monitor, as it affects all games.

a new monitor? you could open your monitor up and adjust the analog controls *inside* the damn thing.
deus ex made me do that.

A word of warning here:
Be extremely careful when opening a monitor. Those tubes store quite a lot of current even when they've been off and unplugged for several days. In fact, don't open a monitor at all unless you are quite sure you know what you are doing.

Thanks, all, for the moniter idea, but is there any other known way to fix this besides shelling out another couple hundred dollars to play just this one game? It seems to only affect Deus Ex - nothing else is plagued by this uber-darkness.
Thanks again.

dark game. the whole thing takes place at night and there are supposed to be a lot of shadows.
