Here's the question: do you think anything "going on" between Garrett and Victoria? I mean, why did Garrett say things like "don't wait up" and was upset over her death. Well...they say love is blind (sorry, just HAD to say it! :laff: ). So, let's have a little debate. Personally, I don't really have an opinion about this. I take information as it comes. But I'm interested in the opinions of Thief fans over such a fiery issue. :eek: *Cough* I'll shut my face now. Oh, one thing---Don't just say things like "Yes" or "No, that's crap";
PLEASE back up your statement when on point, K? Hoping to piss some ppl off.

Well, you know what they say about infatuation and adrenaline rushes.... so did Garrett lose his heart to Viktoria when she ripped his eye out? Doubtful, somehow.
Besides, it would always have been a doomed romance - remember what happens just before the last T:MA mission....

I highly doubt Garrett wanting anything to do with Viktoria. At the begining of the game (could be foreshaddowing) Garrett did say that romantics and thieving doesn't don't mix. But here's a slightly off-topic question, where did anyone get the notion that Garrett and Viktoria would want a romantic relationship? :confused:

A few at least. There's a reference in Old Bad Fellows and at least on here:(

What my real question may have been was "did it seem possible to you?" Who got the idea? Dunno. Interesting idea to ponder, though, I thought. :rolleyes:

I don't think Garrett wanted anything to do with the one who personally ripped his eye out. But I don't think he wanted to see her brutally slaughtered either.

"My good Thief, I shall return for you."
"Great. I'll keep my eye out for ya".
Anything resembling a 'romance' between Viktoria and Garret is basically inference. I write it up to the casual flirting that can go on between two members of the opposite sex.
Just remember his crack at the begging of T2. "i've always equated feelings with getting caught, they both get in the way of my money".

Any potential romance hinted at between Garrett and Viktoria is just further evidence of TMA's poor writing.

The cutscene just before Soulforge hints at a possibility but then again, that could've ment anything... My first impression was also that of the 'love' side but when you watch it again, he could probably just be worried because their cover had been blown and there he was, in the lair of the beast.

Garrett says that he had had knowledge of Viktoria. She acted as go-between for thieves and jobs.
There was no hint of a romantic or casual alliance at all. She contacted him for Constantine, he accepted the job.
She double-crossed him.
Later she approached him when Karras endangered everyone. Garrett accepted the invitation to meet, and agreed to a truce and a joint effort against Karras.
Viktoria got over anxious and started a battle with Karras (which she lost). When Garrett heard of this attempt (not yet knowing of her death) he was concerned for his ally. NOT for his LOVER.
Viktoria and Garrett had a mutually beneficial alliance against Karras. Two enemies joining against a common foe. Not a love affair, then or in the past.
