Am I the only person who is surprised that this thread has been revived four years and a month after the last post?
But very well, I shall add my two pence.
If anything, the two of them would have a very awkward relationship if it evolved into romance. Viktoria is basically worshiped as a goddess, what would that do to Garrett's image in the eyes of the Pagans? Would they look to him as a new ruler, or some busybody that has no business flirting about with their leader?
How would they interact socially? I doubt that Viktoria would be willing to share a lover with any mortal woman, and Garrett sure as hell wouldn't be willing to get strapped down to a single one, even a nymph/dryad/goddess/whatever you people call her.
This is an odd way to look at it, but what about the financial aspect? Viktoria doesn't need cash, she gets everything she needs from the Maw, but Garrett is firmly involved in a cash-based society. He wouldn't be able or willing to abandon that world to live happy-go-lucky in the Maw with her. So I think that during the timespan the game allowed, the absolute best they could be is "friends with benefits" and I think that even stretches it. They are busy trying to save the world, you know.
And who's to say that Viktoria doesn't already have a lover amongst her followers, who have known and worked with her for far longer than Garrett has?
Also, it may be that Viktoria's nature (divinity? spiritual being? plain ol' inhuman?) means that she is unable to actually experience love, and instead only feels a great deal of kinship, like a sister or a comrade in arms? All these discussions seem to take it for granted that Viktoria would be willing to enter such a relationship (possibly because of chauvinistic disposition?) What if she doesn't feel that way, or does and doesn't want to proceed anyway, or any number of strange emotional factors that a member of a non-human species could experience?
As for the people who rant about the physiological differences, she can change her body back and forth between wood and flesh rather easily. (God that would be quite the surprise to wake up to).
Sure, it could've happened, and given more time I think it would have, despite all the reasoning I have put against it, (I'm a hopeless romantic) but the relationship was *cough* ended too soon for it to grow into anything major.
Just thought of this: What if Viktoria and Constantine were together? I don't wanna trigger THAT debate, but it could be imagined, and then his death might make Viktoria less-than-willing to re-enter a relationship.

Rant? RANT?!:p
Typing calmly, and with a slight smirk: The flesh is an illusion. She's not human, only humanoid. No reason to believe all her innards transform into mammalian physiology, too. Her blood is sap. She's a temptress of men, a go-between for the Trickster when dealing with manfools. An ambassador.

I like the notion that if Viktoria's okay with him, her followers are okay with him. All tentatively, of course.

Garrett is clearly a loner through the first two games, and he's still independent in TDS, though less antisocial. Whether he ever falls in love or not, he's a bachelor through and through.
I agree. Well, uh, actually, no, I'm confused. What happens when a bloke, being a bachelor through and through, falls in love?
And what about Basso's sister? Garrett might not be quite the loner, for all the bachelor he surely is.

Well then he's in trouble, like anyone who falls in love with what he/she cannot have. I think he's done with women by TMA--human or not. He stopped shaving as often, anyway. :p In TDS, most of the women seem turned off by him. Post-TDS, sure, he could settle down, especially if he's become a father-figure/mentor to that urchin girl. Maybe Basso and Jennivere could give him advice.

Aha. Maybe there is a reason why he prefers staying alone. :erm:

Parody of The Golden Child:
Viktoria: Do you have any other questions?
Garrett: Well, yes, I do. What are you doing next week? Because your silhouette is kickin!
