I was super-excited about playing another FPS game where Stephen Russel delivers the protagonist's voice. In the most recent teaser, however, it sounds like they've replaced him. He only speaks briefly during the first few seconds of the video, but it doesn't sound like him anymore. Am I wrong?

Have they really replaced him? Or am I just completely unused to hear this specific tone of voice?

I can say without a doubt that it was Stephen Russell doing the voice of the protagonist in the first 9-minute long demonstration from 2010. There's no mistaking that voice, at least when he speaks in a more calmly manner that we're used to hearing from the Thief-series. I was always fond of this particular piece of speculation. Only Stephen has that voice, and even if it wasnt him it is clear that someone is attempting to imitate him. That by itself seems to warrant speculation. For Stephen it would be a paying gig with a gaming fansbase, doing something he gets to have fun with. The reasoning behind attempting to imitate him would be unclear, I think.

None of this speculation explains why someone sounds like Garrett only part of the time--when calm--and is not very Garrett-like the rest of the time. Also, this isn't the first time someone heard a gruff voice and posted how it sounded like Garrett, Batman, etc. I'm just gonna wait for the credits.
