I'm specifically referring to their faces and eyes, very good quality mod for head models and face textures, makes better looking men and beautiful women, instead of texture blechy crappy looking people all around
(though I have heard of some, er, more explicit mods out there)

Ahh, I see. That's good news.
It's just this kind of stuff I avoid like the plague. .

Well, Oblivion has gone gold and is a few weeks from release so we will soon see. The presence of stealth and a lockpicking minigame sounds very interesting.

It's unrealistic, and that's what's most important for me in such fantasy/adventure games. Sure, fantasy games are supposed to be unrealistic and imaginative, but there has to be a degree of realism to make it seem like I can relate to it and immerse myself in it.
Sure, she's pretty, but she's not all that interesting, or different from the multitude of pretty girls out there. Besides, why would a mostly straight girl like myself want to look at other scantilly-clad girls?

Didn't you know? ineffectual figure-hugging armour is in!
Chain-mail bikinis for all.

I don't see the girl in the pic above wearing any armor except the leather loincloth (protecting her "vitals"). She must be awesome at defending herself, since she also has no visible scars. :laff:
I can say from experience, though, that chainmail (a hauberk in my case) without anything under it can pinch and pull body hair.

Yeah, I know (from a friend's experience) how much chain-mail pinches. And seriously! no body armor + no scars. .how can that be?! That outfit just plain doesn't make sense. First I think, oh maybe she lives in a hot tropical climate, but all that fabric coming off the back, especially the leather crotch-guard looks really thick and heavy and would therefore chafe and be too cumbersome and overheating.

She looks like one of them magic types. Probably sits in a tower somewhere casting Magic Misslies all over the place rather than actually fighting with a weapon.
