ARG. .Japan's filthy claws of influence have been on that guy: prettyboy + scantilly-clad + Fucked. Up. Clothes.
Yeah, this image in particular. Japan's idea of what a hero should look like is vastly different from what you or I think. High pitched voices are also really cool there.
Well, personally I'm starting to see more and more realistically proportioned women in video games, and dressed practially to boot.

Yeah, that's true. Actually, that woman from Everquest that I posted looks to be pretty much in proportion. .her breasts actually look real and she has a pretty convincing waist. . her arms and hands seem too short and small, though. . .don't know why. .

Sounds like you CAN be garrett in Obilvion.
From the PC Gamer Oblivion review...
"Garrett eat your heart out..."
"Oblivions stealth isn't quite as complex as thiefs, but the tricks at your disposal make it every bit as fun"
There is a is a sort of gem system simular to thiefs if you have thief skills, there is a lock picking mini game and the ability to check with a "life scan" through walls to check if guards are coming. You can also sneek.
Potential Thiefy quest spoiler...
One of the missions they discribe he has to pickpocket people to get into a cult cave, but then gets all his stuff taken off him and stuffed into a cuboard. He leaves by stealling all the stuff back before leaving, using his recovered wand to cast spells while jumping over heads to stealing the holy text and running out :)
Heh. . good point. Just once, I want a skinny bespectacled geek to be the hero!
You've obviously never played Xenosaga then. The main character is Shion Uzuki, she's fairly skinny and wears glasses for the entire game. She's a grade A tech nerd as well. Although she is supposed to have some kind of martial arts training she relies mostly on technology for her attacks.

You're right, I've never even heard of Xenosaga.

been playing for a few days now
it can be quite thiefy, if you play it right (and naturally i picked a thiefy character)
just make sure, whenever you're doing anything illegal like steal or pickpocket, be in sneak mode, and make sure the visibility symbol is dimmed so nobody can see you do anything nasty
sneaking in the shadows is quite fun
and your gear affects your visibility and sounds you make
as you gain sneak skill, they affect less so
i'm a journeyman of sneaking currently, so my footsteps sound the same, whatever shoes i'm wearing (barefeet or armor or whatever)
i'm just about to join the thieves guild so i can find a fence for my barrels of plifered wares, but a bug caused my contact to fall through the ground
the second bug i've seen in the game so far
it is quite fun
much more so than morrowind, which was just a dead world with a few people here and there standing around
