Stephen Russell, the man who provides the voice of Garrett, is an American actor based in (I believe) Cape Cod, Massachusetts. He's definitely American, and he seems to have a fairly neutral midwestern American accent.

I was about to say - it's really not a midwestern accent. Really, beyond saying that it's American, there's not much else that can be noticed - in short, it's almost as though it's been carefully cultivated to be neutral, with hints of subtle menace added to the inflection of words.

In America, people in the north say they don't have an accent, but the people in the south do. In the south, people say 'we don't have an accent, what accent? the people in the north have it.' :D
After I moved to the south from the north, I worked with this one guy. When he talked, his accent was so bad that I had to wait to see if he laughed. If he did, then I laughed too. Couldn't understand a word he said 70 to 80 percent of the time. But most ppl here arent like that tho.

Everyone has an accent whether you think you do or not. :D In America, the midwestern accent is considered to be the "normal" accent according to the rules of pronunciation. I read this in an article. Ask Marilyn I think.

Living in the south (not deep south, though), I've come to the conclusion that 'southern' is damn near a language all it's own, with it's own unwritten grammar rules and pronunciation, some areas are worse than others in-so-far as how thick the 'southern' is. I have a bit of a southern accent, but I understand and can speak 'southern' when around these people. It's somewhat debateable, though - many that have never lived in the deep south don't agree with me, and those that have been around a lot of deep southerners do.
but, ain't y'all be-in gettinon bouts us goodol' boys ways'a talkin'! We hain't been takin much a-kind by folks not rouns these parts. Don't be gettin none crazeh idears jus cus we's'us talkins a-bit funneh dats we's a buncha fewls or nottin a-bit keen un tha smarrts.
