If Garrett loses one of his eyes, then why player's sight is not partially impaired or at least blurred in the last three missions of Thief 1?

garretts eye was built by karras when he was a hammer so its better then a regular eye,its gives the ability to zoom in,then you can see the effect but when in normal view you cant tell
during the time his eye was gone and before he got replacement eye,i don't think devs thought about it
he lost it before escape mission right after giving woodsie lord the damaged eye from haunted cathedral,if i had to guess the amped up action was probably more the direction they wanted after he lost his eye
at the end of thief 1 he switched the eye ,so he got his eye back ,not sure what he ended up doing with it??? thief 2 not sure we saw it?but in thief 3 i think its on display so maybe he donated it :P

Maybe. But I remember that in Godbreaker campaign Garrett is poisoned and his vision goes black every now and then until he finds the cure. Is it a NewDark novelty? Couldn't they implement something similar back then in 1998?

You could close one eye while playing to simulate :p

They should have mentioned "eyepatch not included" in the original CD

I think Garrett would only lose a small amount of peripheral vision. Perhaps the under NewDark, players using a widescreen resolution should forced to play the last missions using the 4:3 aspect ratio.

How is the concept of "Having your screen blurred and/or partially blacked out would completely suck." so utterly eluding you?

I can't speak from experience, but all losing one of your eyes should significantly narrow the peripheral vision on the side of the eye you lost and also damage your depth perception. If you're wanting ultra realism, the main thing effect that Garrett would experience from losing his eye would be a loss of archery skill. He'd no longer be able to judge distances accurately, and so would be a much worse shot.
