And the scar... well, that's just a stupid concession to a stupid focus group full of stupid people and then okayed by other stupid people in charge of making stupid decisions.
Wow. My english teacher once gave us a long speech about not using the word stupid ever again in anything we wrote. According to her, using the word "stupid" shows how immature one is, as using the word is an outburst of teenage rage and such a thing was not acceptable in her class.

Well, that's just stupid......

I guess they thought it would make Garrett look XTREME!!!!!!!! Sometimes I'm surprised Deadly Shadows didn't have dual wielding.
Now that
really would have been stupid.
Since Garrett didn't have a proper sword, just a little bitsy dagger, which although dual daggers were good enough for Legolas who after all
was an assassin elf, would have made Garrett look even stupider.

Fixed it.

I think that Deadly Shadows wallpaper is a flipped image. The same picture shows up on the loading screens, and is reversed.

it is a flipped image, as garret's mechanical eye is in the right socket in-game.

Another clue to it being a flipped image is that he's holding the dagger in his left hand.

Yeah I like the extreme look but dual wielding, maybe a dagger and a blackjack for when the target inexplicably turns round. yeah that would be cool but the dagger would have to be darkend. Garrett wouldnt like his position exposed by a reflection
Karras, while he was still a Hammerite, made it for Garrett
Did Karras know it was for Garrett when it was made? Im thinking booby trapped with a GPS or something of the type - Karrass did seem to know alot about Garrett!

he made it as a gift for garrett. the idea was to try and woo garrett over to his side once the schism began.

"I know thou art not a believer, Garrett. Yet thou art well aware that half of all thou seest is through Mechanist machinery. Thy metal eye. I gave the eye to thee in the hopes that thou wouldst be an ally, but 'twas not to be. You have eluded me in the past, Garrett, but no one--not even thee --will escape this night."
Notice he doesn't say he made it, designed it, worked on it with a team, built it from another's designs, or put it directly into Garrett's hands.
When I first heard this line, I knew I had to know the first part of the story. Due to life and circumstance I was unable to just purchase it and play it. This was the precise trigger that led me to TTLG. Up to that point, I didn't yet know that Garrett didn't have the mechanical eye in TDP/Gold (except for the final cutscene). That line alone was a defining moment for me.:)
