Like an athlete who wears the same pair of underwear to increase the chances of winning, and the secret gets passed on.
"What's the secret to your incredible ability to elude justice?"
"I leave the victims a turd, my gratitude, and well-wishes. I even go so far as to cover the turd with a cloth so they can pick it up and do as they wish with it."
Except with more b.s. thrown in, 'cause this guy's already a b.s'er--and an s'er, too. Getting a laugh at all the other copycat thieves who suck, and get their nose rubbed in it.

I think being a Thief, Garrett has no problem using any kind of trick available. Including invisible potions. :cheeky:

Whatever works without him feeling too ashamed to lower his standards.

A correction to be made!
Garrett not only GIVES coins away for luck, he also gives Gold Rings away for Basso and Jennivere's wedding. So that's another instance of Garrett giving something of value away. Any others I haven't recalled?

These daggers in the TDS sidequests...? But in fact this is similar to giving loot to the fences.

Maybe ol' G couldn't be bothered to learn magic, too much time taken away from his lock-breakin, zombie-destroyin ways. :thumb:

As a member of the Keepers he would have had the chance I guess. That would lead us to his position/reputation among the Keepers during his training, among the other novices and acolytes. But I've just contributed in misleading another thread, so I'll hide away now and read some books.
