Garrett's wristbands & uniform in T2, T3... - by all

I think he made his own uniforms and wristbands by himself

Here's what I think:
Garrett received the armbands in Keeper Training. They probably gave them to him to steady his wrist. After all, even if he could see Keepers as a kid/teenager, he was still just a boy off the streets. I'd say the armbands are more for archery, to keep the wrist steady while holding that string. He probably has one of those finger things laying around somewhere, too. Now, the real question... where did he get the blackjack? XD No, but seriously, it only showed him getting the sword and bow from the Keepers. Then again, they could've just gave them to him afterwards...
Ut could be that Garrett received more over time from the Keepers, or simply kep his own as a small tribute to their work in training him. Sure, he's a cold guy (most of the time), but he knows his allies.

Another "interesting" topic from all...:cheeky:

Well, of course it is interesting; why should we exclude ethnology from the disciplines we turn to when dealing with Thief? OK, I guess I'm one of the few who look at this game with a scientific approach. :weird:
Anyway, "wristbands" to cover the left arm of a right-handed archer were significantly smaller in the middle ages, about the size of a yoghourt tub's lid. Again, what we have here (and especially in TDS) is so-so fantasy.

The purpose of wearing leather wrist bands on your left hand during archery is to prevent the bowstring from catching your wrist when you shoot, which hurts like hell after a few times. Imagine the world's worst carpet burn.
I imagine the game designers chose to have Garrett wear them on both wrists for aesthetics.
The T1 wristbands were probably the most realistic.

"World's Worst Carpet Burn"
I, sir, believe I hold that particular title. When I was like 5, my bro (being a bit of a dick) decided to drag me into my room for being a smartass (or somesuch, I've long since forgotten the details); to make a long story short, I ended up with my entire back covered in gauze and bandages, it was ALL bleeding, and burned like fuck.
But yeah, when I practice w/ my bow, I wear some black leather gloves I happened upon to keep the bowstring from waylaying the shit outta my wrist. I can tell ya from experience, it hurts like crap!

...and I never use them although it's a little 60lbs 50" horse bow that could hurt me if it wanted. :p Turning the bow hand makes things easier. Oh, and I don't even use a glove for the fingers, a little pain has to be...
To stretch this topic a bit; last Friday I recognized again how important it is for an archer to have nothing on his chest that could hinder the bowstring (or give him the feeling that this is the case). So clothing made of overlaying pieces is not really useful. I liked how T1/2 Garrett's clothing
could be compared with late medieval (

tonight I'm in the mood of speech,
I always thought Garrett was a loner...clothes, uniform Hummmm... I agree that some of his equipment has been given from the keepers, and the rest has been handmade...by himself, but I can't imagine old Garrett getting socks ready near the fireplace to come through winter's ice-cold nights, that would be sooooo ridicolous...
I prefer him studying a way to make his outfit more efficient, and as his spiderlike pose for thief DS shows...he must have been drunk designing the last one, still like thief DP's style better, also for the other guys, but that's personal meaning.
let's hope the fourth encarnation comes back to the medievalistic style of clothing and keep the horro steampunk mood of life...let's hope....
