In this difficult time, I just want to tell you that your jeans-wearing is totally fine. Ignore their wounding words

Yeah but you're a slut.
The helmet tells me it was a dirtbike right? I got a buddy that does the hills out at Gorman. I rode with him some but the street is my bitch. Until she turns on you. Man that shit looks painful. And infected. I bet you walk funny. At least you didn't get a rock up your ass or tear off a nut.
Hey, I had a bud I rode with back in the glory days that slid on his back about fifty feet and off into a rocky wash about fifteen feet down. Tore his dick off. Nah I'm joshing. He did get one of those casts that have your elbows stuck straight out though. Still rode too. They were just right for reaching the handle bars. Crazy bastard.

Reminds me of the time I nearly blew myself up and spent four weeks in bandages while the skin on my legs tore and peeled off every other day because I bumped into too many things while trying to get from the bedroom to the hall.
So, that shit's gotta hurt. Ouch. Good thing about the helmet! And you were damn lucky nothing worse happened. Get well soon.

a paralyzed man. Even with a helmet on, his injuries were enough to land him in a bed for the rest of his life, being elevated with the medical equivalent of an engine lift, and having his mom sponge bathe him every day. He's also incapable of expressing himself, but still retains a good amount of his intelligence
I've never been able to comprehend the monstrosity which people reveal when they refuse to let someone like this go. My mind recoils at such hideous cruelty.
Glad you got off okay, Geebum, comparatively speaking.

On the bright side, um.
* Helmet Worked, Huzzah!
* In a few weeks you'll have some awesome scabs.

Thing is, he wasn't a vegetable, completely. Only halfway one. He wasn't rocking the full Schaivo.

Ouch! I thought I told you to keep the rubber side down with that thing...
I also skinned my knee once early in my riding career when I got run off onto a gravel shoulder by a car turning into the road. That was one day before I had to report to field training and the docs insisted on opening up and scrubbing out my knee every morning after PT. It took years before the skin became resilient enough to stop splitting when I bumped my knee into something. Hope yours heals faster.
It sounds like the shoulder/arm is in worse shape though. I hope your left handed mousing skills are up to snuff. Can you even type?

Updates GBM?
Inquiring minds & all that .....
Gingerbread Man on 24/8/2011 at 15:54
Not a dirtbike. Just really loved the helmet design.
Further updates are premature unless everyone wants to hear me complain about how much pain my knee and shoulder are causing me and how much vicodin I eat a day. It's gonna be a couple of weeks before I even find out if my rotator cuff is baisée.

Yamaha 750 triple shaft drive, just in case anyone gives a rats ass.
I do!
I drag race a 1979 Kawasaki 1000 bored out, a wet kit nitrous package with 4 shower heads, and an air shifter (push button, don't have time to use a clutch on the strip). I just got it into the high 9's this summer!!! I think it is just my skill off the line is improving, as I haven't changed anything this season. I hit about 140 @ the 1/4 mark @ 9.89 seconds.
It is a certified Hayabusa KILLER. Destroys 'em. And it is street legal when I swap the slick on the back. I get so many chicks' numbers on that sucker it is ridiculous.
GBM: Get well soon, bro. Never dumped a bike and never want to. Best wishes!
