I played the demo last night with my girlfriend, and we fell in love with it. It does obviously give me a huge Beneath a Steel Sky vibe, but I'm actually digging this more in terms of characters and atmosphere, judging by the demo.

First thing I did was turn the voices off. After that, all I got from it was pure enjoyment.
So far the story seems to be standard SF fare but enjoyable nonetheless. Music and rain/ambient sound effects deserve a special mention for helping the atmosphere greatly. Very recommended as well.

It's funny how often it works in favor of a game...

Just finished it and yeah, I'm with mothra on this one, it really is quite lovely. The story is nothing overly original but it is well told and, somewhat of a rarity in games I feel, very well paced. Developments come at just the right time and it sustains a compelling level of intrigue and mystery almost right to the end. The music is excellent (it's a shame the game didn't use more of it) and combined with the background art and sound effects, creates an evocative sci-fi atmosphere. Puzzles are on the easy side but are pretty logical and grounded in reality and the shooting elements, while not being particularly compelling game play wise, are well integrated into the flow. It really is nice to play game and have the shoot outs occur in natural places in the story and be of a believable scale. I'll defend the voice acting a little too: it's not all bad and most of the really ropey stuff is confined to minor characters (like some of those opening docs) with most of the main characters being decently voiced (Director, Azriel, Kane).
In summary if you're even halfway interested in adventure games, noirish sci-fi or good storytelling I highly recommend this. It's obviously been made with a lot of love and was one of the most pleasant and quietly engrossing gaming experiences I've had in quite a while.

I bought this, just haven't had the chance to sit down and play it yet. Keen though! :)

Just finished the game. I enjoyed it, although I thought that the plot reveals weren't all that surprising - but then, I don't think the game depended on big twists.
Oh, and the final line of dialogue and explanation of the title - ouch. That was extremely clunky... The rest of the game is pretty well written, though.
What's the dev commentary like? Is it worth listening to it?

I finally started playing this, and feel pretty justified in recommending it to so many people. I'm actually tempted to try out this developer's earlier games, too.
I'm excited to be getting into this, especially after the Monkey Island redux games left me so cold.

The Blackwell games are pretty good as well, I've heard. I'll have to give them a whirl myself sometime.
I'm in the process of stealing a gun from the test chamber with the prisoner, having done all there is to do with the other character. Really enjoying it so far, and not just because I'd eat up anything that gives that Blade Runner vibe. A couple of voices are kinda spotty, but overall not off-putting.
