Thanks to nickie for the heads up on this one!
Podroz Do Krainy Biedkow By Kapitan Smith
Released: October 2007
This is a foreign language only mission (Polish I think nickie said it was) so I got absolutely zero of the story - but it is alot of fun to play, so I wanted to give it a mention and some screens for those of you who might have missed it or (like me) didn't know it even exists. :laff:
To make the mission much more enjoyable to those who may not speak polish your first objective is to meet Peter at his shop for some supplies (including your blackjack and sword which makes the mission ten times more fun) and to do so you simply:
Take a left at your starting place past the first shop (which is not Peter's but be sure to grab the items there) until you come to a wall - take a right there and go through the first door to the right you see which should lead you to a giant open space full of activity. Stick close to the left wall and the first door on the left should be Peter's shop.Whats the story?: I have no idea. I couldn't read a word of it. The custom recorded Garrett sounds were in english, which was nice. I don't know if this one ever got translated or not.
Hows it play?: This mission gameplay wise is a ton of fun. There are wide open spaces, cramped office settings, paranormal activity and everything in between. You'll encounter guards, mechanists, hammers (in a sense) and a good bit of undead. The gameplay has alot of elements that could be frustrating to some (tons of cameras in one area, though a few water arrows will take care of that problem) like a jumping puzzle and some undead - but overall a very fun mission. Plenty of opportunities to sneak or for straight head on combat if that is your thing. I like to mix the two in this one.
Hows it look?: Overall this mission looks pretty good. There are alot of empty looking rooms that could have benefited from some decorating and being that this one was created in 2007 some better looking textures probably could have been dropped in. That being said, everything looks good and will not detract from gameplay.
The cave areas were especially plain looking, however.
Hows it sound?: This one has some humorous recorded lines for Garrett - not because they were meant to be humorous, but I enjoyed the accent of the person that recorded them so it gave me a laugh or two. Otherwise, pretty typical in sound.
Whats the verdict?: As long as you don't mind knowing exactly what you are looking for (some loot you'll understand, but there is one item you need that won't be clear until you get it and see the objective complete notice) or being able to read the story you are in for a treat with this mission just for the gameplay and interesting location choices. Give it a spin.

Oy geezer - get your act together :laff:
I found this courtesy of pav's 2007 review. There's no news of an English translation so - I couldn't wait any longer. But it's a bit of a goody. Still, I don't remember that pagan campfire.
And don't think editing your post is going to get you out of that hole that easily.:D

You didn't remember the scores of undead including the zombies or hammer archers (!) either - so perhaps its you that is the geezer my friend :laff:

Congratulations on the great reviews and screenshots SneakyJack!
I have been playing almost from the very beginning. The very first FM mission I played was Geller's Pride for T1. My first T2 mission was A Lucrative Opportunity. I was soon hooked to Thief missions.
I was actually introduced to Thief by my cousin, who brought over the Life of The Party demo. This was the first level I ever played, and I loved it. I then finished T2 on Normal, Hard, and Expert, and started TG on Normal. I stopped after Strange Bedfellows and never went down Into the Maw of Chaos. :cheeky:
By then, I had discovered the FMs, and devoted my time exclusively to them. I have been playing ever since, having completed 388 thus far.
Best to all,
AndrewPhD

Like nicked mentioned I think its defaulted to f10 but you can go into the thief game options under controls and assign it to another key. I assigned mine to f12 to be closer to the "print screen" button that I'm used to using for everyday screenshotting.
Unless it's been fixed recently, if you have DDFix installed, the default Thief screens key doesn't work. You get a big pink screen. Print screen does the job however.

Great post AndrewPhD - thanks for sharing that with us! :) A Lucrative Opportunity is a good starter FM indeed.

Thanks for the info as always pavlovscat - F12 works for me so I must not be using the DDFix.
Also, thanks to your yearly recap I was able to find the download link to the last mission I posted screenshots for due to none of my usual sources having that one ;)

I missed a picture of my "teddybear picture" in your screenshots of "The Librarian", created by Nightshifter. Shame on you :p
Really, I made my own website ((
www.gloriabears.com), hehehe), but I don't know how to put a screenshot here into a thread or a post reply. I've seen a lot of these ones in this thread.
How do you do that?
I know I need a webspace, but how do I copy the screenshot? Is it a Dromed thing?
I know I'm WAY too lazy here, but I have a toothache, so humour me ...
I know I may sound stupid BTW and
YES I AM, about THIS particular item, but please send me some usefull information here.

That was certainly an awkward website plug
First you take the screenshot itself (the default key for it is f10 but you can bind it to whatever key you like unless you use DDfix as pavlovscat mentioned) and that will save a .pcx file that will say dump000 - dump001 to however many screens you take (they are all numbered in order) in your thief 2 directory.
You can then use an image program like photoshop (what I use) or gimp or any other image editing program to crop them, resize them, brighten them (I do about half a dozen things including cropping, resizing, color saturation, brightness and contrast) and add text.
Next you need to upload them to a free image host (I use photobucket, seems to be the most stable) where they'll give you an image code to post such as that you just copy and paste into the thread :)
If it would help I can make an image screenshot and hotlinking tutorial if there isnt one here already.

I forgot to note that DDFix saves the files in 'screenshotXX.jpg' format. And, it puts the shots in the main Thief folder the same as the default screenshots. :thumb:

:D TTLG online proves I don't exist anymore - probably they don't seem undead to me now. Scores indeed! I'm going back to count every one. I only just found the cemetary yesterday after I thought I'd finished - perhaps I've missed a complete area altogether with all the missing zombies and SCORES of other undead.
Right then - I've counted. Spoilers ahead.
You can't count 2 lying down zombies which don't wake up as hard. You don't have to step on the square to trigger those 2 haunts either, in fact I didn't even know that happened till just now. Apart from that there are only 6 undead to deal with. So what's your definition of easy. :)
And I had missed the pagan area entirely.
