Certainly. I only know of them because their ban made it into the IT news here.
Rapelay, made by Illusion Software. Japanese for sure, but not hentai as far as I understand.

Is that supposed to make it any less disturbing, at any rate?
Besides, the part Then there are the rape grognards who want a rape simulator to be as realistic as possible. They want it to include accidental pregnancies, crying, abortion, threat of murder, fuel mixture, full elevator control, and pre-rape start-up checks. doesn't make feel less nauseated at all. Then again - the quote was from Something Awful...

No. I'm just saying H-Games are a whole different category of software.

They still shouldn't be available.

Also, (and this is a question I never imagined I'd ever ask) can you name any OTHER rape simulation games?
Because if it's only the one, it's more of a freak aberration than a genre.
EDIT: followed the link, wished I hadn't. Ok, so it's not just the one. :(
And regarding games where you shoot ethnic minorities or whatever, that kinda hits on a key point: it's not the shooting part that's the problem. It's the discrimination. A happy funtime game where you baked cakes for everyone would be a lovely game. A happy funtime game where you baked cakes for everyone unless they were black or hispanic would be a very very wrong game.
Shooting doesn't need to even be an issue.

And yet they are. And people buy them. Ain't capitalism grand?
[2 minutes later] Hm. I was gonna edit this post and mention that unless otherwise specified, rape sims aren't actually illegal for a variety of reasons. (
http://www.theinquirer.net/inquirer/news/1184577/japan-ban-rape-games) But apparently Japan's own software industry is banning it. While that's technically not a ban in the legal sense, it might pave the way for such things being made illegal.
I'm... not really sure what to say to that.

On the other hand, there is a certain line that needs to be drawn. I mean, there is
gay porn available. If that doesn't make someone squirm, they may be ought to pay a visit to a shrink.
Preach on, brother.

Without laws banning it outright, selling people as slaves would be perfectly acceptable as far as capitalism is concerned.
