Hallo,
first of all, I'm new in this forum and i'm sorry for my non- perfect english, it's only what I kept from school :), but I hope that I can make clear what my problem is.
I play thief for years know, great game, and actually a few weeks ago I startet to play Thief 2 again.
I've ever had a problem which did not bother me that much, but as I found this forum here, I decided to ask, perhaps you'll be able to help me fixing it :)
It is something about sound in the Gervasius mission (the second one). People don't talk with each other :). They're standing in front of each other, but the small talk is missing.
In the thief folder I found some sound files with parts of discussions which would fit in the context, for example in the mission there's a stairwell with a Hammarite and a servant standing next to each other. And there are some sound files in which a Hammerite and a servant talk to each other.
But in the game, they don't.
I don't have any problems like that in other missions.
Is that a known problem? How can I fix it?

The Hammerite and the servant is a known issue - the conversation is bugged. I don't remember having problems with any other dialogues, though.

There is a guard and a servant in a small room near the "clock". I thought that would be another bugged discussion too...
Is there a way to fix something like that?

When you're done replaying the original missions, you should start on the Fan Missions, if you haven't already played them. There are tons of them and the best part is that they're free! If you need information on where to get them, how to play them, etc. come visit the (

The conversation is bugged? I thought it was merely unfinished, or abandoned...! Is there an actual programming issue?

The servant and guard near the clock don't speak if you approach them from the hallway that the clock is in. You have to approach them from the main hallway to hear their conversation.
In other words, if you enter the library through the secret passage, leave through the door, go past the clock and around the corner, they just stand there. If you go down the main hallway and approach them from the other side, they'll talk about the library.
