it seems the problem is that parts with sub meshes are not being accepted, this may have to do with my using anim8or rather than 3dsmax, who knows, so i'm now carefully rebuilding parts of the mesh as single meshes without the advantage and ease of sub meshes. for instance, the waist and top of the bot were separate pieces grouped and named qbutt_0, the robot body name, this is a problem, so far i'm extruding that from a single piece with no problems, i'll see how things go when i attempt to texture map it.

Very nice! It's much more fun to rob something that's on a nice display. :thumb:

Now that I'm playing with Anim8or, I have to wade through 19 pages of this thread to figure out why the conversion tools don't work for me :(

I suppose in the worst case, I can give people the 3DS files to convert if they want to use them, and go back to voice acting. :laff:

Targa helped me figure it out. I now have my first object; the first one that successfully converted to BIN, that is: a spiked blackjack that Asgaroth requested.

I don't know exactly what Asgaroth is doing with it, but my understanding is that it is not for use against live humans. :devil:
