No, it's not correct. But objects of a certain complexity (usually around 1500-2500+ polies) will crash DromEd if you look at them.
I don't think there's an exact limit to the number of polygons, only a vague limit to complexity.
I'm working on an amillary sphere with working axles which is 1379 polys & was worried that it might be too big/complex. I suppose the answer is "It might be." I'll have to try it out, I guess, as soon as I have it textured. I was hoping that I could know that before I texture it and animate it.

Just try converting the half-finished model before texturing it and seeing if it crashes BSP or DromEd?

So far so good ... :angel:

Hi
I've been having trouble with the eggplant tutorial for anim8or. Everything's fine up untill the second modifier you're suposed to make to bend the stem back 60 degrees. Every time i try it, it turns out looking like a broken pillar!! Obviously you all have completed it with ease.
Anybody know how to make the modifier? Plleeease Help!!

It's probably the case that some parts of the stem were not 'inisde' the original bend modifier. You might need to resize the modifier using the non-uniform scale button, in front view (or back, left or right).

Not at all - it took several tries before I worked out how the modifier should be. It's as R Soul says, but although I don't remember that well, I know I had to make it bigger I think than indicated in the tutorial - or smaller! One or the other anyway. :)
But keep trying - you'll get there.

The same problem. Trying to bend pipe. I've tried to make modifier:
- the same size as pipe;
- less than pipe;
- more less than pipe;
- bigger than pipe;
- huger than pipe;
- extremely huger...
- inside pipe;
- pipe inside it...
The only result is BROKEN PILLAR. Should I try to change its size from zero to infinity with 0.1 step until it works?!
Don't think I'm crazy but...

I see now!!! Why didn't I guess myself?

heres a tip, easy texture wrapping on a cylinder. make a four sided n-gon. extrude it into 12 segments and detach 12 of the newly created faces. use the bend modifier to bend it 180 degrees. the end result will be a cylinder. you can merge the nearly overlapped points where the edges meet, and viola, a cylinder is nearly done. just have to create a bottom and top, you'll have to connect the points on the top, select the edges and fill the holes.
now on the texture issue. if you aligned the texture on that flat piece before bending it the texture will be aligned the whole time. texture top bottom and adjust the size of the shape, you can make drums, barrels, pipes, tires. anything, and have the textures line up perfectly.
