I don't use it any more, but it is a very good program.

It was very frustrating to learn for the first month of use or so, but once learned it meets the need for a free modeler. I've flirted with others over the years, but never suck out the initial learning hump, and always returned to Anim8or to get the job done.

I still use anim8or to make all of my AIs and other objects. I also like how the UV texture grid looks like now. It made the UV alinement easier for me.

I know this is a lot to ask but I have been trying without success to join two objects together using Anim8or. I would like to join pipe02 (tall straight) and pipe06 (right angle) but when I select both objects and click on Join Solids nothing happens. Eventually I want to join the nearest points of one end of each pipe but Anim8or doesn't respond to what I am doing.
I have followed a barrel tutorial on YouTube and was able to join the top and bottom halves with no problem.
Can anyone assist me or give me some pointers?

When an object is imported (e.g. from 3ds) I think Anim8or makes a 'group', even if the object has just one component. Before using Join Solids you may need to select each one and go to Build > Ungroup.

Ok I'll try that and see what happens. It makes sense because I basically imported one object and pasted in another previously imported object.

Yep that did the trick. :thumb: Thanks Robin, and thanks Larry I'll check that beta version out. :)

If you prefer the old UI to the new one, you can configure that under File > Configure UI > New Color Scheme
