If the draw slides out how will the contents slide with it? Will they be Elevators?
Or will it just be a Container where the objects go straight into the invnetory?
I'd say having drawers behave like footlockers (i.e. item jumps directly into inventory) is easier for both the mapper and the player. Highlighting a small item that is inside a highlighting object can be a pain in Thief. In many cases, the player will accidentally close the drawer again instead of taking out the item.

35 pages? :eww:
Hey, thanx for the comments taffers'. It really helps. :thumb:
I had thought about making the drawers functional, there's actually 3 of them on that model, but i haven't got to that stage yet. I just took a look at a lever to see how that was done but Anim8or came up with errors so i'm not so sure if we can do it in Anim8or. :( I do hope so as i really would like to make tables with working drawers. This is the error i get loading up the lever...

A "Contains" link is certainly the best way to go about this. An easy way to create a working drawer, is indeed to make it a seperate object, turning it into a door, but it will need aligning with the table every time you use it and i wouldn't want to have to keep doing that. :p It's gotta be a single object for me or it isn't worth doing.
I started another object this morning. Here's what i have done so far...

If anyone feels like doing a little slumming, SHTUP could really use someone to do basic texture alignment fixing on some of the models. Or is the texture tool in Anim8or a lot easier to use than it initially appears to be? All I need to do is load up a pre-textured object and precisely nudge the texturing on some of the faces.
Anim8or is great for texturing but it takes a while to learn how to do it properly.

I've got SS2 installed at the moment. I could give it a try, the UV editor in 3ds max is ideal for nudging coordinates around a little. Tell me the objects' .bin file names and I'll have a look.

How easy is it to create a secret door? I need a simple secret door with the dimensions 6x6x1. If I use the available doors the textures get stretched and look v. poor. Anyone?
Sluggs on 27/7/2004 at 22:51
I'll make one for you tommorrow OK? :) Would you like certain textures on it or would you like to use the Text Repl thing so you can use it again with different textures?
[EDIT] Sorry, it hasn't worked out! :p I've been unable to get the texture to match the core texture size. :p I have tried 3 different models, all textured differently, and not one of them matched the core texture size. Here's a screenie of the different models i made...
