Great work Otto. There's some real good stuff in this thread. I'm sooo glad i gave birth to it! :D Was a painful fiasco tho' :joke:
I shall be doing more later myself but i've got some Beta testing to tend to first. (That's if i'm still around that is)

anim8or is the best thing ever, i've updated the textures some since this shot, and i'm working on some other details for the room, i need to find a good ambient for in there or diesel engines running at idle, since the boat isn't going anywhere in my mission.
really its just a set piece, the first intesting place i thought of in the mission to build. its a long tube and doesn't offer much in the way of stealth possibilities.

You could always say it's in for repairs. Either that or that it's the first of it's kind and hasn't been out to Sea yet. Ahh those were the days. :D I used to work at Sea on Cargo ships carrying cargo across the North Sea. Best job i ever had.
This is a piccie of one that i worked on...

subs would need to idle the engines in port to charge the batteries, so its completely reasonable that they are making some noise, i'm afraid of boats, i tend to fall in the water, not sure i would enjoy working on the water like that, but some people seem born to it.

This thread gives birth to some of the best Thief fan models yet... ones that put my humble SS2 modelling work to shame.
And this submarine... a new FM, I presume? after playing "A Debt Repaid", I have the feeling Ottoj55's next FM would be even better :) Anyway it's looking great - and captures the atmosphere well.

Here is a sound that might work for you.

the pistons are the jointed piston that came with thief
I hope you've set the 'Sim' flag on all of them, otherwise they'll very easily become out of sync.

i'll add that, i'd like to set them to so that one is up when the other is down
