@ sNeaksieGarrett
Yah, isn't DSL great? That's what I'm using too.
@ sluggs
Still working on the automobile models for that third mission. Trying to create a truck right now...

Cars, Trucks and Cranes? In Thief? Whatever next? :cheeky: (I like those Cranes in Unreal 2)
Shame you had to remove the details from those objects Otto. :p I guess some things have to be sacrificed now and then to get the best results. :wot:
I quite like the new Footlocker skin. :thumb: Those Alarm lights... It's surprising how much use we can get from them. I'm thinking about making a rotating one, like you see atop Cop Cars.

all frivolous detail, the beds went from 113 kb to 10 kb after i changed the rails to squares. its built in three layers, each layer extruded from a single pieces, so its simplier. the top part has the poles scaled to make it seem to be hanging from the ceiling instead of on the floor. and the dials i just changed from 10 sided to 6 sided, the engines got a little simiplier and gauges on them were reduced to 6 sided, etc, etc, so its nothing that really impacts the mission to me. next up is the control room which is insanely detailed.

Those shots look totally cool, Jason... I'd love to betatest that mission.
Ok, I've finally started figuring out Anim8or and managed to make a simple table last night. Only took me about 5 minutes.

Nice work, sluggs!
Well, I sorta halfway figgered out this texturing business. Took me 5 minutes to make the mesh and over an hour to texture it, and that's after fiddling long enough to halfway understand things.

http://home.insightbb.com/~yandros/temp/temp_files/table01c.jpg Still not happy with the edges of the top, but it's not bad for a first attempt.
HEY! I made my first custom object!
WoOt!One other thing.... when the table looked a nice size in Anim8or, upon porting it to Thief it was HUGE (like 100x100x100). I scaled it down in Anim8or to the point that it's tiny when I open it up and have to zoom in or Frame all the views when I first load it. It was still like 9x9x9 after that, so I scaled it down by <0.4, 0.4, 0.4> in 3ds->bin to get it to a normal size. What do you guys do about this? Keep it big in Anim8or and scale it down by like <0.02, 0.02, 0.02> when you're making the .bin file?

When creating non-editable shapes in anim8or, note that one unit in anim8or is one unit in Dark. If you're unsure about how big your model is, create a cube with a specific size for reference.
Anyway, I usually edit my models at a scale of 10, since the 3D view will only zoom in so far.
