Come along Yandros, where's these new objects of yours? :cheeky:
Sorry friends, I've been dealing with some RL shite recently. Maybe soon.

Oh crap! Sorry about that Yandros. :o

S'ok, all is well now and things are getting better again. :D
I'm close to completing an object worth releasing to the public - maybe tonight. It's not terribly Thiefy, almost an anachronism, but hopefully somebody besides me will find a use for it in some mission or other. I'm making it because it will replace a dozen or so brushes in DCE1, and will look more detailed without affecting terrain complexity adversely. (That is one main goal of making objects, right?)

I wonder how many people will be wanting for a screenie to turn up in the space above? Then after having read this little bit.... :nono:

I waited. :o
No biggie, just a metal shelving unit.
Pic removed, see new pics and link below
I still need to put some crosswise support pieces on the back, and there's also a brown version.

I've had to redo that big display case because, altho' i built it in Dromed first and took all the sizes and exact locations of the brushes and remade it exactly the same in Anim8or, even using the exact co-ordinates, there were gaps in the model and it was a pain in the butt to gridsnap because they never lined up properly, even using the lowest grid size of 0.01!
What i had to to, and this works perfectly, is just create a little 0.25x0.25x0.25 cube, and place a copy on each corner where the object would end, so you'd end up with a sort of dot-to-dot skeleton of the object, then i just bridged the faces of the little cubes, building up the model.

http://i71.photobucket.com/albums/i133/SluggsUK/anim8or/dottodot3.jpgThe window in the last shot doesn't look aligned because it's actually a bit smaller than the case frame. I made that seperately, also using 4 cubes but those were 0.19x0.19x0.19

Awesome Yandros. You've done a good job texturing it. :thumb: I'll take a look at it and see if i can use it in my City FM. :cheeky:

This is the DCE1 brush construct which it replaces:

http://home.insightbb.com/~yandros/temp/temp_files/dce_shelf.jpgThe brushes for the thin brace pieces on the back and sides are done at grid 10  so you can imagine I'll be glad to replace it with an object. :cheeky:
Poly has a similar (and IMO better-looking) one in DCE2, but I don't know if he'll want to use this object or not. Unfortunately, he's swamped with school right now, and I'm busy with RL, AsyluM's mission and making objects, so DCE is more or less at a standstill at the moment.
