I'm trying to beat the entire game without "getting caught", but this isn't exactly ghosting it because I'm also trying to ally with both the Hammers & Pagans (thus reducing my chances of being seen).
Now, I noticed I can't check my stats unless I finish a mission...making things a little difficult...but after the last mission I beat, it said I was caught 0 times in the total for game section.
My problem is, if I shoot a rust mite, and someone (Guard or townsfolk) hears the explosion, this counts as getting caught...even though no one saw me :grr:
Before I noticed this, I went all over the City blowing up rust mites and avoided anyone finding me. Then I beat the Kurshok mission...checked my stats afterwards...and in the total for game section it said I was caught 4 times! :wot: D'oh
Basically, what I'm asking is, what counts as getting caught?

Someone running for the guards counts as getting caught, I guess. Similar for the guards, that if they start searching you're "caught", bar Noisemaker Arrows. The rust mites exploding causes people to run for the guards and guards to draw their swords. That is what I think it is at any rate...

i think it tends to vary depending on your preferences. for example, if i get someone searching for me because he heard a noise (or i zipped by him but he didn't see me long enough to get a good look at me, so he starts searching around, yelling "AWRIGHT, WHERE ARE YOU?") i'm okay. BUT if a guard comes running for me, or a civilian runs away, that's a bust. to summarize: level 2 alerts are fine, level 3 alerts are a bust.

Okay, I found a way to do it using Thiefbot.
1) Find rust mite.
2) *savegame*
3) Open Thiefbot, set AI audio to 0
4) Blow up rust mite, *savegame*
5) Reset AI audio to previous number.
Alright, so it's cheating :ebil: but not too badly.

Well, Anxietron, I have managed to beat the game with 0 times caught and I have killed all rust mites. Personally I think there is no need to use Thiefbot to achieve so. That's still cheating, right? ^_^
If you want to kill a rust mite, if possible, make sure there are no people around you. Then once you've killed the rust mite, immediately run away from the scene or lean against a dark wall. Even if guards are searching for you that won't count as a time caught.

Also helps that you're as far away from the mite as possible whilst still being able to shoot the thing.
