Currently playing through T2 again and I'm having this problem: while sneaking around (mostly when ducked and leaning against a wall) I often get stuck at that wall and I can't move anymore until I jump away from the wall which of course makes noise, if it's on "loud" floor it'll alert everyone nearby...
It seems to happen mostly on slant or curved walls like in caves or spiral stairs.
So that's a little inconvenient, is there maybe a way to prevent this from happening or a better way than jumping to release yourself?
I haven't noticed this behavior before, I guess I'm a bit unlucky this time or it's caused by a mod (I'm using the "Ultimate Difficulty" thing) or ddfix maybe?
Game is of course patched (final 1.18), according to the fan mission FAQ here I have the "best" possible version, all md5sums match etc.

It never happened to me until last month. I was told it was just an engine bug. I, too, would like to know why it's happened.

Don't crouch and move close to walls that are angled out. In the MAW and other cavelike areas if you are too close to a wall that is angled toward YOU, you can get stuck.
The most often place is at a corner where you pause to look out and around. Unless you are desperately in need of a place to hide and that is the only shadow, stay a little away from the wall.
You can also try a LEAN or a Move backward to "Unstick" Garrett. Sometimes this works. It is a not uncommon happening, depending on your playing style.

Unfortunately for me, I got stuck in a cube, on a wall, and jumping inched me upward at first, while any other movement besides looking around did nothing. I'm glad it only happened once in all my Dark Engine ventures.
There was nothing else there for me to get wedged between. Just me velcroed to the wall with my head near the ceiling. :D

Well thanks for the tips. I'll try leaning in combination with all sorts of other movements next time. And I'll save more often. ;)
Just finished mission 9 which I hate anyway. Thankfully, #10 is fun.
I have to play cautiously because of a) Expert difficulty, b) Ultimate Difficulty mod, c) trying not to take out any enemy (killing is forbidden anyway because of a), but I'm also trying not to use the blackjack or gas arrows unless I'm really stuck).
All this combined makes things interesting and you'll be running for every tiny shadowy place. :)
