Well that's suprising news.
You know, I've never quite gotten the second-hand resalability thing. I never buy a game off Steam that I'm not absolutely sure I want to keep. Which means I never buy a game off Steam that isn't from Valve. Or Monolith, in the case of FEAR 2.
I'm usually good with what I want on Steam as well, but occasionally a "universally" praised game that sounds interesting ends up being crap.
I'm looking at you Penny Arcade Adventures.
At least it was on sale.

No, not like Steam. With Steam you at least have some choice: apart from Valve titles, very few games at the moment actually require Steam to be installed if you bought 'em retail.
With GfWL, it's either install it or GTFO.
Few retail games require GfWL too, your point?

This is way of the future. There's stEAm for C&C4, the changes to Battlenet etc...
Personally I wish they'd do us a favour and go stick their heads in a blender (an industrial one operating at high speed, I'm not cruel).

What? I know of an online requirement, but where did you get that it uses Steam?

I think he just meant the whole "you must be connected all the time" thing.

One piece of shit DRM platform takes features from another piece of shit DRM platform. Yay.
My sentiments entirely. Seriously, DRM is shit especially the strcit sort used by Steam and sometimes by EA. It causes more problems than it solves.

I've only ever had one issue with Steam's DRM with one game and it wasn't a very good game anyway. (Said game being why I learned never to buy anything off Steam that isn't Valve, but w/e.)

104 GfW titles in the past three years, 19 of which use LIVE. Factor in all the PC games that
aren't GfW, and it's VERY few games that require GfWL.
