Using invisibility potions when ghosting feels like cheating. Blackjacking opponents is certainly not allowed in the official ghosting rules.

The hardest mission to ghost for me was "Kidnap!", definitely.
In fact, "ghosting" (ergo no KOs) per se is impossible (I believe). It is however possible to complete the mission without being seen while keeping your "Damage dealt" score clean. 'Tis a heck of work however to lure conscious, gas-immune Cavador to Site 9
while carrying his "front" guard in your arms
. (Anyone managed this mission with neither knockouts nor gasing? Can't imagine so.)
The easiest mission was "Running Interference" (on Normal difficulty, however).
Just birdcalled, waited three minutes -> Basso came out with Jenivere unharmed and I didn't even have to enter the mansion. :cheeky: (This is probably due to the fact that Thief doesn't use any processor time on AI far enough away from you, I guess. Thus the gaurds weren't able to detect and/or attack Basso and his girl-friend.)

It's very difficult on Kidnap to knock out the guy with your blackjack or gassing because his guards are sensitive to those things. I don't remember what I did in the end but I think I used a gas arrow on all three.

agggh, i remember doing kidnap, that was a bitch.. but thankfully i triumphed in the face of cavador, just lured him to the spot and went about my merry way. :ebil:
speaking of which, i think ill go play thief right now! XD ill catch you jerks later!

I broke my no-video-games-for-a-year vow this weekend and played TDS and tried to ghost the first mission on expert. I had two knockouts,
the guard at the top of the stairs going into Lady Elizabeth's room and the guard at the other stairs going up to where you get the Mad Mortimer portrait.
I must say it is quite satisfying to play this way instead of just getting rid of everyone completely then having the entire level to explore without any obstacles. :cheeky:

why would you vow such a sacriligious thing? :joke: but really, why would you vow to NOT play games for a year? wait, is it perhaps because you have a real
life? ::gasp:: Whats it like, having a life? Is it fun, cool, boring, stupid, annoying, nugat-filled, or even vermin infested? RELENQUISH YOUR SECRETS TO ME!! :laff:

Maybe it's because I recently awoke, but this makes me laugh harder each time I read it.
nugat-filled!

Ummm....It's partly because I have so many other things I'm doing: I'm writing a book, I'm assistant superintendant at the county fair, I have a house to upkeep and a lawn that needs mowed... Mostly it's because God told me to be obedient to Him. I've been a little reckless these past five years and it'll be good to get back on track again.
Probably more info than you cared for, but it's the truth. As far as what a real life is like? It ROCKS!!!! :cheeky:

You can buy fake artifacts from a local pawnshop - Old Quarter's I think.
Now you tell me!! I'll remember that when I hunker down this winter & try to ghost my way through all three games. Thanks! I think I tried ghosting through maybe three different levels in TDS, to no avail.
