I've become somewhat obsessed with the glyphs (in a good, fun way!), and have been rummaging through the old messages here for more info on them. So before you say "Search", well, I have!
There _was_ apparently a bit of a project to try to discern meanings of Glyphs. However, the pages these were housed on seem to be no more.
Thief 3 seemed to lay it out that at least 3 have specific meanings: the Trickster's 3rd eye for the Pagans; a hammer for the Hammers, and a keyhole for the Keepers. I suspect that for the most part, the rest are just random cool-looking symbols and the developers didn't sit around decided that Glyph A would mean this, Glyph B would mean that, and then meticulously assembling messages in Glyph-ese. Similar to Aurabesh in the Star Wars universe (ugh, I feel like such a geek!). Anyway, it would be kind of fitting if there was a glyph for "thief"; does anyone know if there is or not? How about any others?
The other part of the question is, I've seen some glyph windows icon zip files on Thief Circle, but does anyone know of any really good collections of glyph images?

I don't know about good collections, but I included many of them in the font I made a couple of years back. Get it here: < (
http://fonts.atolonen.cjb.net/Thief.zip) >. The good thing about having them in a (ttf) font is that you can make them as large or small as you like without affecting their quality.

I did find these somewhere, some time ago. I am not certain *where* it was. . .some site that was not in English and I have not been able to find again. (Granted, I haven't tried very hard, since I couldn't understand anything *anyway* lol)
But it had a collection of 101 Glyphs from thief (or so it claimed?) and I snabbed them all. They are not the clearest, and I have tried making vector images using these as guides, but so far have had no luck. (I'm not that great with vectors yet.) Perhaps someone else will have better luck.
Anyway, I zipped them up and you can get them (
http://www.starbase251.com/files/thief_allglyphs.zip) here for now. Perhaps someone with a thief-oriented site would like to put them up for a more permanent download?
Hope this helps.

i have a bunch i got from the Thief1/2 .avi's and some from TDS drawn in a notebook somewhere. yes, i did pay that much attention to Thief, hell i even made some up, for some inexplicable reason. i even have the 2nd to last glyph drawn down (the one that basically obliterates all glyphs, not the one on Garrett's hand). basically, i think the glyphs were kind of like the transmutation circles in Fullmetal Alchemist, while they look sweet ass, do some pretty cool things, thier meaning has yet to be deciphered completely.

Holy crap! Thanks, Elentari! I was disappointed when I discovered that site was no longer running. I went there months ago to grab them up for myself, they were gone, and my feeble searches led nowhere. And now you've gone and handed 'em to me (us).

wow, very nice Elentari:thumb:
you know, being the Thief freak that I am... I'm probably going to draw every single one of those in my personal notebook :laff: :sly:

Quite welcome. :) I'm glad some of you can use them.
And yeah, I had a feeling that site wouldn't last long. I have made it a policy to nab stuff off the net as I find it, because you never know how long a site's going to last. PARTICULARILY with game devoted sites. People lose interest and stop hosting the sites and all the information you liked to refer to goes poof. So I save it. . .and eventually burn it onto disk. And if I lose interest its there if I want to come back to it. Or, in this case, if someone else needs it. :) And yes, I do save credits too where I can.
And thanks for that glyph font, xxcoy. Nabbed it.
And, Xenith. . .willing to share your designed glyphs? I could always use more. *grins* Not like I've used even half of the official ones, but hey.
