This post is spoiler-heavy. Watch yourself.

http://thief.nov.ru/Glyps/103.gifDuring the "Gamall Revealed" cutscene, one of the Keepers can be seen using this glyph, which is later referred to by a young man (Scribe?) in the Keeper library as a "Discarta glyph", as has already been revealed. Gamall is said to have "caught it" and "changed it", presumably into:

Both seem to be of purely offensive purpose, although it might simply be the way that they are used (both glyphs seemed to have "sharp edges"). During the ending sequence, a weakened Gamall appears to try and trace either a Discarta glyph or something similar but it fades before she is able to complete it (presumably due to the effect of the "Final Glyph", which ends Glyph Magic - although we don't know for sure what's happened, and whether that would affect Hammerite or Pagan magics - although Pagans are shown to have Glyphs on their bodies, they may draw their power from another source. Certainly Glyphs are not obvious in the observed magical effects of Shamans or Priests).

On a very tangiental note, a few unanswered questions remain about Lauryl's body and spirit, which I've asked in a (

We can safely assume this combination:

... has something to do with preventing spiritual release or preserving the body after death. Note that two glyphs fairly similar to Discarta are used - this may imply that Discarta (or antecedents/decendants) is somewhat of a multipurpose glyph - perhaps even one whose meaning and effect is based entirely upon the context of its use.
