An American reimagining of a Konami classic, created for a Nintendo console?
Pass. I've made that mistake before.

You know, Konami can keep trying to push out remakes and sequels, but without the creative heads from Team Silent in tow, these new Silent Hills will never quite be Silent Hill.

What was wrong with Twin Snakes?
It was everything the PSX original was w/ higher res textures and better cutscenes. It was the same friggen game. I could understand your reaction if you didn't like the original, but I don't think thats what you're saying.

Twin Snakes is 90% superior to the original. It's that 10% that makes asshole fanboys assholes.

I'd have played Twin Snakes, but for some reason Konami decided to make it a Gamecube exclusive, which was a great way of telling 90% of the people who cared about it to fuck right off.

It was pretty faithful as far as remakes go. However where it took liberties, the changes were in poor taste or just sloppily implemented. It's probably not noticeable to people who aren't very familiar with the original or who are wowed by shitty graphics just because they have more polygons than the original or who enjoy shitty techno music or watch too many John Woo movies.
I could go into depth about it but these discussions typically turn into people acting like dipshits and accusing each other of being fanboys/nostalgic/jealous/wrong/etc or assigning arbitrary percentages as if it were scientific fact.
Oh, hi there dethtoll. :D

I will grant that the music is by and large really crappy. It lacks the cold feel of the original. I still get chills when I hear the original tank hangar music.

Yeah, it was the stylistic changes that bothered me the most. I actually enjoyed TTS from a gameplay perspective except stuff like the 'improved' cutscenes were so revolting it dampened my appreciation of the whole work. And even the gameplay additions were unintelligently implemented and basically just shoehorned in.

I liked the cutscenes. Snake is the best fucking soldier alive, so why couldn't he do some of that shit?
