I need to test the translation in Polish versions of Thief GOLD and Thief 2. And I need to do it fast. Is there a way to gain immortality by some config files modifications? I guess "no_endgame" works only with DromEd...

why not just dig out SND.CRF and listen to the speech files that way?

I need to test written text. :) I need to see if every book, scroll etc. looks good in-game. I can't test it in crf files. I need to finish both games.

You can play every OM in DromEd and use its commands (ai_awareofplayer, scale_sim_time 2, etc.) to run through each mission easier and faster. Even saving and reloading works (most of the time).

The last guy who asked about god mode got horribly flamed...

explain, because if you're checking for grammatical/spelling errors you could just dig through BOOKS.CRF.

There are several problems.
First of all, I need to check if everything (save games, interface, various settings etc.) works properly after our modifications. As you know, there migh also be problems with the number of signs (letters) displayed in one line of the text. Therefore some books might look ugly and some texts will not fit the pages properly. I can't see if it's OK just by digging through crf files. I also have to check the translation of the maps (and the way automaps work with Polish words that might also not fit the highlited parts of the map properly). We also noticed some problems with punctuation: it looks OK in crf files but is completely messed up in the game. Etc.
I don't want to use DromEd, because I need to check the working version of the game installation.

I don't need so called god mode to play the game. I need it for testing purposes. I played Thief games many times. Hell, I even made some FMs (see my signature).

Make a backup of dark.gam.
Open Dromed and change the AI > AI Core > Team property on one of the AI archeytpes so that Team = 'Good'.
Remember that if a child archetype has the Team property, it will override that of a parent.
Save the gamesys as dark.gam, then you should be able to play through Thief2.exe and the AI will not attack you.
There will be the odd exception where the Team is specified on the concrete object.

You might try the Thief Save Editor. It modifies the stack count of your inventory to give you something like 1,000,000 of everything. Enough fire arrows, flash bombs and healing potions and it's pretty easy to stay alive.:)
Of course you could always edit the OM .mis files and create what you need at the start point. Creating a 5000 gold purse at the start would make satisfying the loot requirement quick and painless.

I would think the DromEd solution would be best; however, wouldn't bukary need DromEd 1 AND 2, to check both TDP/Gold and TMA, respectively? I don't know if DromEd 2 loads TDP/Gold okay, or not.
Slyfoxx, is the Thief Save Editor safe to use? I'd like to use it to clear levels quickly so I can then take my time to explore missions unhindered. I cannot install, and therefore, cannot use DromEd... yet. But I can install Dark Project.
