Slyfoxx, is the Thief Save Editor safe to use?
I've used it a dozen or so times over the years...never had any problem. (Midnight In Murkbell is fun with all those fire arrows and flash bombs) It only ups the stack count of items already in your inventory though. So spread your dough around and buy 2 of everything you can from the store, drop into game mode, quicksave, exit, run TSE on the quicksave file then reload the quicksave. Add
cash_bonus 5000 to your user.cfg before hand if you need more money.

Slyfoxx, I've had to use the cash_bonus cheat along with this one:
"1. At the pre-mission store, buy anything you can.
2. Without starting the mission, save your game.
3. Start the mission and fail it.
4. Choose 'Replay Mission' and go to the pre-mission store.
5. Reload your save game.
You should have the items you bought and your money back."
But it can take a long time on an older computer, and you can only buy everything already for sale, nothing more.
So where can I download the "Thief Save Editor?"
Bukary, I tried that Dark Project trainer and had nothing but problems, and zero positive results. Fortunately, it didn't corrupt anything, but it did cause Thief to crash. Also, besides making the AI invincible, it uses keys that may interfere with your key-bindings. I don't know about the Metal Age trainer.

Actually now that I think of it, I don't know where you can DL TSE. I got it from Komag on his discs when CL came out.
So check you e-mail. I sent it to you. It's only 100 or so kb zipped up.

In this case, what's wrong with the method I suggested?
jtr7 on 20/9/2006 at 06:01
Nothing, unless DromEd's unavailable. Does this work with both versions of DromEd, or just Metal Age? He hasn't mentioned it yet, but Bukary may not have DromEd 1 for TDP/Gold. Until he says otherwise, I don't see why it shouldn't work. He could also switch off the AI, too, right?

Make a backup of dark.gam.
Open Dromed and change the AI > AI Core > Team property on one of the AI archeytpes so that Team = 'Good'.
Remember that if a child archetype has the Team property, it will override that of a parent.
Save the gamesys as dark.gam, then you should be able to play through Thief2.exe and the AI will not attack you.
There will be the odd exception where the Team is specified on the concrete object.
Could you, please, describe this step-by-step? Thanks!
[EDIT]
Nevermind, I did this. :)

I would think the DromEd solution would be best; however, wouldn't bukary need DromEd 1 AND 2, to check both TDP/Gold and TMA, respectively? I don't know if DromEd 2 loads TDP/Gold okay, or not.
Slyfoxx, is the Thief Save Editor safe to use? I'd like to use it to clear levels quickly so I can then take my time to explore missions unhindered. I cannot install, and therefore, cannot use DromEd... yet. But I can install Dark Project.
i use DromEd 1+2, i use Drom1 for the TG missions, and Drom2 for the T2 missions, but remember, for some reason, it stores the save directory on both versions, so what you used in Drom1, when you use
Open in Drom2, it will be set to that folder instead of the one you used last in Drom2. Kinda confusing.
how cant you install DromEd? its just a .zip file... i keep both Thieves on seperate partitions, to prevent problems, and it works just fine. If you want a prog to help, i suggest
Tsearch, all you really need is 3-4 of an item. PM me if you want more details, its really really useful, its one of the ways i used to hack NoX back in the day. :thumb:

It just occurred to me that it's caused by both .exe files being called Dromed.
Windows obviously remembers the last save/open directory for 'Dromed.exe'
You can rename one of them so they have different filenames.
If you use Monolog Viewer, you'll have to change the .exe referred to in the PathToDromed line in
mlogview.ini

I don't have a computer of my own to install or play the games on, let alone DromEd. All my internet access is through the computers at the university where I work. I can install
Dark Project on a computer at the library, but it's erased when I log-off. Generally, when I try to install any software, for my temporary use, I usually get a message about not having Administrator priveleges. The fact that I can play
Dark Project (even though it plays too fast, which I don't actually mind too much) just shows that there is a loop-hole somewhere.
I am currently battling my way out of debt, so it'll be a while before I can afford a new computer for myself. All the money I manage to save goes into repairing my truck or to doctor's bills. :erg:
