Ahhh, Tracing the Courier. :) Makes me want to go back and play it.
Heh, vurt really needs to go back and play that mission again...it was hardly as limited as he described it. There's more than one path you can take to follow Mosley in the mission...if you have the attention span to work for it.
That's the problem I have with a lot of games today...they're made for attention spans of two seconds. With older games...I felt satisfied at the end of a level, because they took their time and stayed the course, but with a lot of newer games...TDS as our current example, I feel like the game prematurely ejaculates and is finished before I've even begun to get into it. I'm looking for a lover...not a fighter damnit.

Why is it that the most vocal TDS fans also seem to be the dumbest?

Wow! That's some sociological investigation you've conducted! :cheeky:

I think a six year study involving thousands of volunteers should be statistically significant.

How much are "thousands"? There are about 9 billion poeple on the world, so "thousands" are not really statstically significant. :)

Congratulations, you have earned a merit badge in sophistry.

My guess is that they are probably the youngest.
:p
And I really wish that when people are arguing about Deadly being better than Project, they stop continually bringing in comparisons to other games that have *nothing* to do with Thief or Looking Glass.
I don't care if Deadly Shadows was better than Splinter Cell X. That has no bearing on the fact that the Project dominates them.

I would never critize Thief Metal Age becuase V1.0 had this and that bug, but for TDS those kind of arguments are ok? The only reason its used as an argument is becuase it's really hard to find any _real_ problems with TDS.
With Deadly, the bug was the design itself, you see.
And how dare you continue to go on about Climb Gloves, Oil Flasks, and one other item replaced Rope Arrows sufficiently! Water wasn't that important???
You don't know a damn thing about Thief!
I'm not sure what you were doing in the water, but for the rest of us it provided an extraordinary sense of realistic completion to Missions it was featured in. It provided yet another solution to travel within Missions. It also served as an overall enhancement to the atmosphere. I don't know how many times I've had to jump into some water to elude a bad situation. There have been several notable occassions where my only escape route came in the form of falling out of the sky into the water. Not having water doesn't make Deadly bad, it just doesn't make it Excellent.
No, my friend. This argument isn't about Deadly being good or bad. It is about Dark Project being a masterpiece. Yer just gonna hafta make room in yer life for that fact, fellow Taaaaafffffffeeer!
Deadly will *never* be a masterpiece. Whether or not it's bad or merely good is ultimately up to the "new fans" to decide, as the game was obviously designed for you. So, I hope you enjoy climbing up and down, and up down on the same wall over and over with your Spidey Gloves.
:p

Uh, no... that's just what you try to make
every single thread you post in be about. You have made the exact same point 400 consecutive times, is it really necessary for you to keep posting it?

It's really a sad, sad thing to watch the poor boy slide further into dementia.
