Galaxy 2.0 has become my main launcher at this point. Apart from having to reconnect to Steam every now and then, it's working flawlessly for me now. I'd still like to have some more library customization options, but I'm confident that there'll be more features to come in the future, so I'm a happy customer right now.
Anyway, has someone had a look at the "Library" tab on Steam lately? It seems that they've pretty much shamelessly copied what Galaxy 2.0 did, but they've somehow managed to make it look uglier and more confusing.

I haven't used it as much recently, but that's more to do with what I'm playing at the moment.
Outer Worlds I'm playing through the Windows store thanks to Xbox Game Pass, and Destiny 2's chat is tied in to Steam. But for anything else, such as Noita, Streets of Rogue, etc.?
Yup, would still rather use Galaxy 2. 'tis a grand thing!

Yeah my Steam updated last night. I completely HATE it and it wont let me turn it off. Gah. It looks awful. Why didn't they have a "Classic Mode" button to turn it off.

I've probably mentioned it before, but IMO the main thing GOG 2.0 needs is to have the context menu on the tray icon show a list of your recently-played games, like Steam does.
That's usually my main method of launching games from Steam, and if I could do that from Galaxy, that would be great.

Finally got my invite :).
Certainly nice to have all my games under the one banner. Annoying part was that they all appeared un-categorized in GOG Galaxy, so had to recategorize them again. And you can't select multiple games at once to tag them, so this took QUITE a while.
I'd have preferred it, that when in grid mode installed games would appear in full color and the uninstalled ones be in grey. Make for seeing what's installed easier. And yes I know you can filter them into installed and not installed sections.

They've added a way to import tags, favorites, and hidden games from other platforms too. This isn't implemented yet though, so beware as it wipes all the tags you'd set for those games in GOG Galaxy 2 so far. It'll be a nice thing once it's working though, and a workaround to Galaxy 2 not allowing selecting multiple games to tag at the same time.

Looks like they've added that feature in the latest update! It's one feature that I've been looking forward to as well, and my main way of launching games (on Steam) too, so pretty soon Steam won't have anything essential that GOG 2.0 hasn't. Another nice new feature is that GOG 2.0 now combines "duplicates" in one entry, so that the games that you own on multiple platforms don't take too much space in your library.
Gotta start tagging my games as well now. I tried to put all my Steam games in different categories some time ago, but in the end I wasn't really happy with it. Should have planned it a bit better, I suppose!

Not quite yet. They've added jump lists, but they've yet to list your installed games. As is, it's mostly a list of shortcuts for quickly jumping to a specific part within the GOG client.

It's listing the last 3 played games for me in the jump list (RMB on the window icon in the task bar, not the tray).

I was excited when I saw the changelog, but sadly they didn't actually implement what I was hoping for.
There's still no context menu on the tray icon.
Instead, they added a submenu to to GOG Galaxy on the start menu (like Steam has), and allowed you to right-click* on the program's taskbar icon to get a menu. Which is just silly, since it requires you to open the full application before you can use it.
* This is also a thing which really annoys me. I have my taskbar button right-click swapped to the old-school Windows context menu from Windows XP and older, the one which actually worked with keyboard shortcuts unlike the fancy modern one. By default in Windows 7 and higher, that is normally accessible with shift+right click, and I used 7+ Taskbar Tweaker to swap them around.
GOG Galaxy somehow doesn't support that context menu at all, so right-clicking on the tray icon does nothing for me unless I shift+right click to open the fancy jump menu.
It doesn't support Alt+Space either, so the usual alt+space, X to maximise shortcut doesn't work either.
