Are there any decent 3D Sonic the Hedgehog games?
I'm talking actual platformers, not bullshit spin-offs like a go-kart game.
Thanks in advance.

Sonic Adventure is good (though I'd love Big being eaten by something nasty and never heard from again) and Sonic Adventure 2 is decent.
The others are mediocre, not bad.

Sonic on the wii is ok, in great contrast with anything Sonic since the Sega it is actually not absolutily terrible if you can take the soundtrack, which I couldn't. Dear god. If there is any series that manages to keep writing additional pages in the sad history of epic faillure it is Sonic. I heard the rpg for the DS is pure bliss though.

Sonic 3D Blast for the N64 :joke:
Are you trying to find a worthy successor?

Let me put it this way:
The Sonic fanbase is a lot like the Fallout community. Utterly unpleasable as a group.
Some were expecting/wanting pure platforming (2D Sonic style), some wanted pure speed/acrobatics levels (SA1 Sonic style), some don't like the werehog on the basis that it's a "new" character (it's merely Knuckles in disguise), some don't like the fact that it changes between 3D and 2.5D, some don't like the Quick-Time Events (semi-random button combinations to take a better path/hurt a boss) and so on.
Do note that the Wii/PS2 version is quite different in gameplay from the 360/PS3 version. Different levels, boss fights (especially the last boss), mission structure (the story is the same) and even some basic mechanics are different. Also, while the Wii version uses the Wiimote+Nunchuck by default, you can use the more conventional Classic Controller or a GC Controller instead.
