Fixed. God, Kotaku is a proofreader's nightmare.
Further fixed. The cool thing about them is that they're very quick to update and catch on to the latest stuff, and it does make up for a lot of shortcoming, but if you take that away they're rather lacking in both form and content.
I used to be a big fan of the Escapist back quite some time ago, but I haven't hit them up that much lately. As for RPS, I'm hardly a regular but I tend to have a favourable impression on them for some reason, though that might just be the PCfag in me at work. And maybe not
quite what's being asked for, but Gametrailers is a common title in my address bar - aside from, you know,
the trailers, I do find their review format to be fairly to my liking.

Do journalists from TV shows count because I know two good ones from an Australjian show called Good Game.
Yahtzee is pretty good too(and sometimes hilarious) with his brutally honest opinions.

I generally just read Eurogamer/gameindustrybiz and RPS. Usually that's a good gateway to any other good stuff around, so there's not really anything else I read regularly. The writers on both are very good, it's not just that there's crossover.
I like The Escapist's ethos, if you like. I think their crazy format is pretty cool, but I don't really know who it's for any more. I read several articles in a row where it was just some person outlines the basic premises of some well worn talking point as if it was brand new (often omitting some important details) and then sums up with a line or two and that's it. The comments call it a brilliant article, love it to bits etc. Well, it wasn't bad I guess. If you were 14 and hadn't heard about all this before many times it could be a revelation.
After finding that a few times I haven't paid very close attention to their articles.

I recommend Peter Parrish.

Seconded. Mr. Parrish is an excellent young writer. His only fault is an unreasonable bias against any game with clowns in it.

I was asked this, so I'm finally bothering to answer. Other than KG being a douche in general (This should go without saying at this point:- (
http://ttlg.com/forums/showthread.php?p=1691741#post1691741) this, the Fred from Megatokyo-esque drama surrounding the Cassandra Project, his FEAR 2 review contrasted against the reception of other cookie cutter console FPSes at Eurogamer), there's an attitude amongst the entire quartet of RPS that gets my goat. The Angry Internet Men thing, every time there's a news item that causes grievances amongst the PC gaming communities they say "oh no, here come the AIMs". Plenty of people may have legitimate complaints based on informed insight, but oh no they're virtually always automatically labelled as irrational, ignorant, reactionary idiots.
Overall I do enjoy skim-reading RPS every other day, it has that same dry British humour that I used to get from reading PC Zone UK in the mid to late 90's. It's refreshing when contrasted against Kotaku's usual insipid reporting habits (Eg "HEY LOOK AT THIS LINK, SOMEONE BAKED A BIRTHDAY CAKE WITH MARIO BONING MS. PACMAN.", "CHECK OUT THIS ODD GAMING RELATED PIECE OF MERCHANDISE COURTESY OF THOSE KOOKY JAPANESE.").

I always love when you make your opinion into fact, Eva. Don't ever change. ;)

Huh? How am I anything of the sort in that post?
Yeah, I do admit that I get carried away when it comes to the application of hardware and software (the recent headphone tirade and shouting down Chuck in that 360 gamepad thread), but not this.

Mmm, it was the impression I got from the part I quoted. Having said that, there's certainly no crime in sticking to your convictions.

Tell that to Koki.
Oh wai-
