So I reached a bitch of a boss in FFX and cant be arsed grinding for 5 hours but still want to see how the story pans out so I figure I might check out a Lets Play. Anyone got good recommendations? All the YTs I follow dont do full LPs, and all the ones I heard of are too wacky and zany. I dont mine commentary, as long as it's not WACKY ZANY (Yogcast/Pewdiepie) and the people shut up during cutscenes.

I quite liked the "dienoob" Let's Plays of Dark Souls 2. Very in-depth for those completionists out there (like me). Not sure if he's done in Final Fantasy let's plays.

funny and
annoyingly wacky zany is usually down to personal preference. For my part, I think the line gets crossed when it starts feeling like the LPer is pandering to the audience and playing up the wackyness.

Just because this topic came up, I was happy to see somebody release a Let's Play of my own FM with commentary for the first time just today. It was FenPhoenix, who is known to be on the wacky babbling side. Usually his style isn't my bag, but when it was my own FM I warmed up to it more & liked it. Granted he's improved since his earlier days and has more of a voice for himself too. But it probably speaks more to the ego of a creator than a tolerance for zaniness, maybe.

Since you've just outlined most of why I don't like LP, I'll have to check them out.
