In spite of my skepticism, I've been enjoying
Quake Live beta in 10-20 minute spurts here and there. I'm utterly terrible at it, but it's a rush.
Don't do yourself down; it's not so much that you're terrible at it but rather that a high percentage of the people playing Quake Live have been playing Quake 3 for almost 10 years now.

Killing Floor (UT2004 mod) is great, nice and helpfull people playing it..
Left4Dead is kind of fun, but if you're not a pro at it and don't play 24/7 you can be sure to be kicked out once in a while.. Play it with a couple of close friends for a much better experience.
Most fun MP experience i've had is Action Quake 2, would love to play something similar..

KF had some incredible fun and atmospheric levels and even the gameplay was better than L4D imo, loved the whole idea that you could barricade yourself and the zombies would break in after a while + they move slow and silent, as zombies should, instead of screaming and going 200km/h like l4d, not as frightening.. L4D has some really strange design choices too, e.g that you can't play only 2-players (without the CPU-players).

Say what you will about FarCry, but the multiplayer is amazing. Lots of fun, and a very competitive community.
Probably my favorite multiplayer game ever was Soldier of Fortune 2. Again...singleplayer was meh, but the online games were absolutely incredible. Fast, bloody, and awesome.

I think you missed the point of Left 4 Dead.

I think you missed telling me what it missed. If you mean i don't get why you _have_ to be 4 players to enjoy it then yeah, i don't get that, but do explain, please.

Ok,ok, but other than that, i was talking about the gameplay mechanics, it's not like it's heavily strategic and each character complement each others by using their own unique specialities.. the game could be played 2-player. well at least there's gonna be a sdk out i heard.
