Did they get online coop working properly? sNeaksie and I about pulled our hair out one week trying to get it to go. Apparently, the servers are dead and you have to go through an insanely roundabout way to play online.
Yeah, SWAT 3 seemed like one of the first online games I'd played that didn't simply let you enter an IP address (at least as an option), which is just incredibly frustrating when the inevitable server shut-down occurs.
I don't believe GOG have attempted to somehow resurrect the original servers.
The game does have support for LANs, so I gather that nowadays you need to use the likes of Hamachi to simulate a LAN game over the internet. I presume that is what you guys were doing? I've not tried that myself.

That's exactly what we were trying to do, IIRC. I was curious about it as well. Being able to play swat 3 online again would be great.
I think the hamachi route is more complicated than at first glance. The problem is that it doesn't seem to like windows 7 all that much, but it might also be the version of it too. I remember reading about trying different versions of hamachi to get games to work. Then again it may just be my friggin firewall, but I thought hamachi was supposed to get around that problem so I really don't know.

Yeah, dead on Shadowcat. We were slinging Hamachi around. At the time I was on Vista and sNeaksie on 7. THe problem, iirc, was on his end.
sNeaksie: I have Windows Vista, Windows 7, and a new MacBook Air. I am going to try to get SWAT 3 to play nice. I'll take my Windows 7 notebook next door and see if I can get Hamachi to work with one of my other computers here at home. I'll keep you posted, we need to get in-game this summer!

Shhweeet! Thanks, I'll give it a go.

I've set up my tunngle, hope it works. Apparently you have to join a pre-made network based on your game, then launch your game and look for the LAN functionality. (

I've tried launching Swat 3 to see if tunngle works, but I didn't see any games in LAN. That's probably just because nobody is playing right now.
I'm up for a game sometime.:D

Kewl. Next time I am home, I'll grab my discs. It may not be unti;l wed. though, sNeaksie.

I'll look for you on Steam chat Wed. or Thurs. and we can work it out somehow.

GOG have just released (
http://www.gog.com/en/news/new_release_normality) Normality, an adventure games from Gremlin played in first-person, using the game engine which they subsequently used to make Realms of the Haunting.
I remember people mentioning this after ROTH appeared on GOG, but I'd never heard of it before. It sounds intriguingly different, but my backlog is telling me to pass, at least for the time being.
Has anyone here played this?
