Aside from the developers probably getting a bigger slice of the profits per copy sold, why do you think? OPTIONS. Consumers get to have their cake and eat it too. A DRM free copy AND all of the benefits of the Steam platform (auto-updates; social media; stat tracking; etc.).
This is all for the same $12 pre-order price that GOG is charging, so why would you opt for a lesser deal?

I thought the gif was the only redeeming part of your post. I have nothing against the feeling of "I find him so stupid that he deserves such a post" but if you're going to assert yourself as superior, multi-layered sarcasm, logical reasoning pushed to the extreme, dry humor or non-sequiturs convey the idea much better than ridicule through ad hominem insults. And they're much more interesting to watch for everyone in the thread.

Wing Commander IV? I liked what they did with the story, but I was also sort of burnt out on the series by that point - added to which, the asymmetrical Kilrathi ships were visually more interesting than the more samey Terran ships.
I'll still end up buying it, most likely... but they should finally get their friggin' act together and publish the Worlds of Ultima games!

It's the DVD version of Wing Commander 4. HIGH quality FMVs! I'll buy this for sure, loved WC4.
