Ok, this I did not expect: (
http://www.gog.com/en/gamecard/alan_wake) Alan Wake - $14.99.
Guess I just need to get used to the fact that GOG isn't just Good
Of Old Games anymore...

How much does it cost on Steam at the moment? Definitely hoping to get it at some point, once the price has come down - and $15 is pretty low.

Very unexpected!
The $15 price tag looks like a 50%-off introductory offer.
(Note that the download is 7.9 GB, if that affects the cost for you.)
Tempting.
I think I heard this game was a bit disappointing, but that might just be relatively speaking. Is it worth grabbing?

As far as I've heard, it didn't live up to the hype (original deadlines died, funds were cut some thus content as well), but the people who have actually played it say that it's atmospheric and great the biggest downside being repetitive combat.
But that's just me, a person who hasn't played it, speaking. The GOG offer includes two DLC's from which one is good and one is crap as far as I know.
edit: Just bought it myself. Gotta fund Sami Järvi's new lamborghini somehow.

I'd say it's biggest downside was that it was a horrorgame that wasn't scary.
And the ending sucked.
Still a good game overall tho. I enjoyed the combat a lot, and the atmosphere is indeed wonderful.

The ending is a sequel hook, as the two DLC (and American Nightmare) will attest to.
I fucking love the game, personally, but American Nightmare is an improvement in every way -- I can't wait to see what the actual sequel will be like.

If a game isn't too long (nor too expensive) atmosphere tends to keep me going for long enough. I love the shots of the game on (

Dead End Thrills.

Most well known horror games have been about tension and atmosphere, really. Also scariness is an entirely subjective thing.
