(

FWIW, this game could've
really benefited from a less linear structure, but it's pretty good regardless (no matter what dethtoll might say ;)).

Undying has a really awesome first half and a fairly mediocre ending.

Never played this, but I do remember watching my mate play this once - all he did was blow up buildings. Looked great.

who cares - it's got a bloody scythe that has a will of its own.

It didn't click as much as the original (
http://www.gog.com/gamecard/syndicate) Syndicate (also $5.99) for me and was at the time one of the few games I regretted purchasing. Possibly due to the heavily pixellated look of Wars (early 3D engine) compared to the original (sprite based).

It may not be exactly like the original, but it does have a charm of its own. Levels go for significantly longer and the musics good. I found the overall atmosphere of it all to be quite immersive. Love the intro to that game.
Negatives: The final level regardless of side (since both sides get the exact same final level) was stupid. And it lacks the excitement during Syndicate vs Syndicate combat of the original.
I've not played the game in many years so the 3d graphics may not have aged well. Unsure on that one.

Hmm I've been craving a deeper RPG lately and thinking picking up either Gorky 17 or Two World on GOG current's sale, but both have crappy metacritic scores (yea yea I know metacricitc, but)... any thoughts / recommendations between the two?
EDIT: well I watched some reviews / playthroughs and they both really look equally crappy

The main draw of Two Worlds is the absolutely horrible/hilarious dialogue.

I mean, Two Worlds is sorta off, but it is kinda like Gothic. It has that Euro 3rd person RPG thing going on with bizarre dialogue. I enjoyed it, and am considering the sequel.
