I see that GOG finally responded to the fact that their 10th Anniversary site redesign was/is horrible (and remains broken for a bunch of people).
I've been thinking about your post for the last one and a half months, and I still don't get what's wrong with the new look. :p It looks clear, it's not cluttered with a hundred fancy buttons and pull-down menus and stupid recommendations* like Steam - it's fairly basic but I think it works! I'm definitely not a Steam hater and hardly some GOG fanboy either, but GOG and GOG Galaxy are really starting to look more professional and user-friendly than Steam... Just two or three years ago I never could have imagined that I would say such a thing. :)
* seriously, what's with the Steam recommendations nowadays? I always click "ignore" when I see any hint of anime or manga or whatever, yet Steam tries to recommend some terrible anime sex games to me all the time.

I'd expect one of two things: A) Someone on your Friends list has written a positive review of these games or B) These games share a tag with a game (or group of games) you've spent time playing.
You can automatically filter out games with certain tags by going into your Account Details->Preferences and scrolling down to the "TAGS TO EXCLUDE" section, you may want to add the Anime tag to your generic block filter. That page also lets you blanket block games with any type of content deemed "Mature" like gore, nudity or sex, regardless of what userdefined tags they may or may not have have.

The thread I linked to has more than 1300 posts discussing the problems with the redesign, so... maybe refer to that? :) One example is that the screenshot slideshow for a game has been a horrible PITA ever since -- half the time the slideshow images need (I am guessing) to be generated on-demand, and then it can literally take 5-10 seconds to change between images. Every image. It's so unusable that I'm much more likely to give up and close the tab, than be the poor sap whose time is wasted on generating the missing renditions. Those screenshots are one of the most important methods the site has for promoting each game, and they've come up with pretty much the world's worst implementation of the idea and, months later, still haven't fixed it. It's really quite astonishing.

There's also been recent changes to the "algorithm" resulting in a lot of smaller indies losing traffic to their steam pages. This came around the time Valve also announced higher sales % for those earning over $10 mil.
So you might be seeing more of the animu games for no other reason than that they are selling a lot already (because animu)

Not good.
I really should buy more things on GOG instead of Steam.
