They're listed as the publisher on Steam, so that might open them up to a GOG release.
Edit: Or not. Stupid Wikipedia.
While I'm thinking about Activision-owned properties, it would be kinda nice if they put the first 2 Soldier of Fortune games up there.
i loved the 1st solder of fortune, at least up to the point before it got all sci-fi. i would definetly get it if its released on gog.
one question though, but how does gog run DOS games? do they make some weird port to run them in windows or they made a dosbox like thing for them to work?
edit - never mind, just did a search and it seems they used dosbox for a lot of DOS games. i was hoping for something different. wanted to get descent1 & 2, but i'll just look for my copies and run them in dosbox instead :)

Yeah, I think my entire first play through I did with mouse+keyboard. Works fine, but the controls never felt RIGHT until I tried keyboard only.
It may not work for you, but it definitely worked for me.
edit: pbldcttr, it's not a DOSBox-like-thing. It's DOSBox. Specialy tweaked to behave as best as possible with each game, I think.

I dunno why you'd run Descent 1/2 in DOSbox when there are really good windows-native sourceports. I bought them from GOG, installed them to a temp directory, and copied the data files into my RebirthXX folders.

What Jason said. If you have the CDs, you won't even need to to install the standard game -- you can get the files you need direct from the CD, with any decent archive tool. I can recommend the (
http://www.dxx-rebirth.com/) port, but there are others as well.

What Jason said. Grab one of the fine Descent source ports (I've been using (
http://www.dxx-rebirth.com/)), read the installation instructions, and you're away. If you have the CDs, you won't even need to to install the standard game -- you can get the files you need direct from the CD, with any decent archive tool.
oh man, i had no idea this stuff existed :) thanks guys, will try them as soon as i get my box with old games :D

In addition to DXX-Rebirth, there's also D2X-XL which apparently has a more advanced renderer than Rebirth, and also supports the Descent 1 campaign/missions, but I haven't played with it. If you just want a similar look/feel to the originals with higher resolution/better input+network support than Rebirth is the way to go.

Homeworld series
THQ bought Homeworld in (
http://forums.relicnews.com/showthread.php?t=169611&page=1&pp=15) 2006. Whether or not they got distribution rights for the original games with it is in question, but if a different company owns the trademark I think Activision would be unlikely to let the old games be sold since they'd probably have to give THQ a cut, and would potentially be advertising for a THQ produced Homeworld 3.

Dungeon Lords looks really interesting actually. So is it all patched up now and playable?.
Check out the amount of changes they have made. OH, and just buy the COLLECTOR'S EDITION if possible. It is already fully patched and has some extras. It is v 1.5, and you can only patch the normal version to 1.4. Don't ask me why...
