I got Blood on Friday on night from GoG, and it works fine on my XP x64. Runs through DosBox, it flickered quite badly until I changed the graphics mode to OpenGL. After reading the GoG forum post on Blood, I managed to get mouse-view working without being inverted, and now it's great fun. The graphics haven't aged well though, if the Developer makes the source-code available then we may be able to get a high-definition pack like the fans did for Duke 3D.

i never had any problems getting gog.com games to work. but then again, I have an old single-core pentium for the special cases. but for any game that did not work (longest journey for example) there was a workaround on the forum or through some googling. What is the game you have troubles with ?
Gorky 17 has all kinds of issues running on modern hardware. Which is odd, since the company that made it is actually part of CD Projekt now.

Not happening. AFAIK the source code is actually lost.

Why don't people use DOSemu rather than DOSbox? It uses the native X86 processor in your machine, so you could probably run the game on an old 300 MHz junker from the garbage. Nothing annoys me more than seeing an old game struggle to run on a multi-GHz processor.

Probably because it's for Linux only, doesn't appear to have been updated for several years and not many have ever heard of it?

but it's FOR LINUX
that automatically makes it better
